Insurance on a fast car would cost as much as the car at his age. Footballers don't have a great track record either. He'd be a pulling machine though.
I saw in the car park that JWP made a pretty sensible choice with his car purchase. Nice little VW Scirocco, sporty looking car that isn't ridiculously fast with high death potential. Probably helps that his Dad's a barrister, so obviously a bit switched on.
I would think the bell at Lloyds would toll at the mention of 17-yr-old footballer buying his first car.
I'm sure his contract is nice, but I doubt he can afford a really silly car yet. He seems the type who woul pimp his ride with coloured calipers, go faster stripes, spinners on the wheels, lots of gold bling and a bumper sticker saying "get yer tits out". Then he'd put a ridiculously large rear spoiler on it and he'd drive with Rickie Lambert in the passenger seat to keep the front wheels on the tarmac.
Another great youth player good luck to the lad. Looks like he will have a big future ahead of him at St Mary's
He's never denied it his whole family are. The article handily leaves out how ridiculously pro saints he was as well I wouldn't worry about him for a while.
Not worried. I didn't realise he wasn't a local lad. Once Nicola gets that 5 year deal in fron of him with a £30m release clause, we'll be fine
Considering the mess his knee was in at Villa, he must be a quick healer, he left the Chelsea FB for dead on that break down the left, and at last a cross from the flank that doesn't end up in the defensive crowd.
Yes, that run and cross is excatly what I felt he needed to start doing. I wonder if Adkins had asked him to concentrate defensively in his first few games and is now unleashing the power. Great run and crossby Clyne for Rickie's goal too. I have said for a few months now that our full backs were stopping in front of opposition full backs rather than getting beyond them. Looks like we've started to push them to the next phase. love it.
Which is great when you have someone who can cover for you like Guly or Ramirez or even Davis but not so good when Lallana is playing as he doesn't cover so well.
There is no doubt this lad has really grabbed the bull by the horns.......Strewth, how he has taken his chance...........It would not surprise me if he isn't called into the under twenty one squad and maybe next year into the full squad. If he keeps progressing in the way he is going..........Not quite the finished article...but well on his way.......Hope he has the brains to stick with Saints while we are in the top division. We really seem to have a knack at producing international left backs...........
One thing is for certain and that is that someone will come in and test our mettle. Obviously NC will play the hardest of hardball but there will be a stupid bid for him in the not too distant future. He's just too good for it not to happen!
I think you are right, a bid will come in the Summer. It's going to have to be stupid money to work though.
Think that's a touch unfair Beddy, he certainly had his trouble early in the season with defensive lapses, but I think since around the time Shaw came into the team he has defended very well. Averages third most tackles per game after Morgan and Clyne, and second most interceptions again after Morgan. And if Shaw set off on a long run it would be Cork or Schneiderlin's responsibility to drop into the gap rather than Lallana's. If anything I feel like Shaw has had a tougher time defensively since Lallana has been injured, not that tough mind, but before Lallana got injured he was an absolute rock but since then he has made a few little errors whilst still playing very well.
You may be right Mikey.... for me at least he seems to have taken on more of a wing back roll since Lallana has been out of the team whether deliberate or not I don't know.....His assist record has gone up with out Lallana though.....as has his completed tackles ratio. So it is hard to say perhaps what if on Lallana's return, it will have any effect on his current style of play. Will be interesting but we are unlikely to see Lallana for at least another month I wouldn't of thought.
