I can hardly believe Ray Wilkins is championing the idea of Super Frank joining Man Utd who we all know happily integrate the over 30's! This will give me a nightmare tonight because there's a horrible remote chance it might happen! Wilko PO!!!

They could combine them, just as England fans wished desperately for all those years ago, but couldn't because Giggs was Welsh...

    Rooney-Van Persie
    Giggs-Lampard-Scholes-Beckham

  4. As frightening as it may sound, Lampo could well go to United. And I think he'd do fantastically well, there. I can't see him moving abroad, that's for sure. So, where else is there for him to go? £ity don't need him, and as much as I'd love him at Spurs, I can't imagine that AVB has forgiven him for being one of the vipers in the nest, when he was your manager. Arsenal? Nah, he's not their kind of player. West Ham or QPR? Let's not talk silly, eh!

Which ever way you cut it, United looks like the obvious choice.

If Man Utd are genuinely interested then I can't see him going anywhere else. Why would he want to move abroad away from his family when he doesn't have to, or why would he want to go to a weaker side that isn't in the CL when he doesn't have to.

Chelsea aren't even a big rival of ours, City and Liverpool are our main rivals, whilst other London clubs are supposed to be Chelsea's rivals, even if there fans seem to hate us more than anyone at present

Agreed, I really hope we don't go for Cole, as there's no point as Evra's better than him anyway. I'd have Baines as I think he's the best LB around at the moment.

Fellani is a great player, but I just wonder how he would fit into our side, as he's at his best playing off the front man. His talents are waisted a little playing in the holding role

    Baines <laugh>

Cole is still the best LB in the business anywhere. <ok>

He'd only be a bit part player for us anyways, don't see him holding down a regular starting place at 35

Hah Evra isn't fit to lace Cole's boots. Cole is still one of, if not the best around. However, Baines is quality, and crucially, younger. Also comes with a smaller wage packet. Money and age are the only improvements on Cole however.

Is this the same Ashley Cole who Valencia has torn apart time and time again. SAF targets Coles side every time we play you, as Cole cannot live with Valencia. Baines is world class and has definitely been the best LB so far this season, and to dismiss him the way you have suggests to me that you haven't seen Everton play much this season

  15. As a neutral, I'm not sure who I'd rather have, Coles or Baines. A lot of Spurs fans will feel a natural bias towards Cole because of the rivalry and... well, because he's a bit of a knob-head, but there's no doubting he's still a very useful player.

However, on balance, I think I'd take Baines. Indeed, I hope we try to get him in this window <ok>

No its the same one that kept both Ronaldo and Messi, the two best right sided players in the world, in his pocket every time he has played them

Funny how Fergie opted to move Ronaldo to the left side because of that very reason in the CL 08 final

Hate the idea of Super Frank Joining Manchester United, Lamps is a chelsea legend. But Lampard is out of contract and he will be a free signing.

Maybe but the later 2 will be on a free and the former 2 would cost at least 40 million.
