Its amazing how many people continually get sucked in by his waffle. Make no mistake, the second a half decent offer comes in or we go down he'll be on his bike.

Did he say it after?
That show pony article came out today, wheras Adel's Qprplayer interview was put up 6 days ago.
The morocco coach was saying Taraabt couldn't play because of "personal reasons" a week ago, and now he's saying he wasn't selected. Sounds like Taraabt turned him down so now the coach is saying "oo well i didn't want him anyway!".

That wouldn't correlate with previous history between him and his National team though Grifter. He was dropped, stormed out and had public rows with the Moroccan management in the past. Is it any wonder they don't want him in their team?

Of course you could say the opposite too in that he left the team in the past so he's done it again but when you add in his history of strops and walk outs with us in the COLIN era, I think its a safe bet to say that the problem lies with the player and not the Manager.

Whatever about all of this what can't be denied is that Taarabt has been one of our more committed players this season. For this he deserves credit.

MOROCCO did not pick one of their English Premier League stars for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals because he is a show-off.

Morocco has no place for a show-off
RELATED ARTICLESZambia coach fumes after goalless draw
That was the frank reply from coach Rachid Taoussi this week to a question about why Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder Adel Taarabt is not in his squad for the tournament.

Taoussi said he wanted a united team without individualistic and ill-disciplined show-offs.

Reports in Morocco last week indicated that Taarabt refused to meet the coach before Taoussi announced his preliminary side that would travel to South Africa, signalling a rift between the player and coach.

Taoussi spoke after Morocco played to a goalless draw in a practice match against defending African champions Zambia on Tuesday at the Rand Stadium.

The question about Taarabt clearly irritated the coach.

"I want a united team, that plays as a team and Taarabt does not fit that description," he said. "I don't want players who want to be stars and show off. He lacks discipline and I don't want that in my team."The ongoing rift between the coach and the 23-year-old star could signal the end of his international career - at least for as long as Taoussi is at the helm.

Taarabt has made 15 appearances for the national team since 2009, with four goals to his name. He retired from international football once before, when he was dropped to the bench for an Afcon qualifier against Algeria in 2011. He changed his mind and returned to the national team in October 2011.

He is not the only recognisable face missing from Taoussi's squad. Another England-based player who has not been included is Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh. However, the striker has been excluded because "he has not been getting game time at his club - nothing else", Taoussi said.

Despite boasting other established players like Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi, Montpellier's Younes Belhanda and Aston Villa's Karim el Ahmadi, the side looked average against Zambia.

That doesn't mean that he didn't try to select him though. I'd heard that Taraabt ignored his calls.
If one of your players ignored your attempts to select them then you're likely to subsequently accuse them of not being conducive to a united team.
This doesn't sound like the interview of a man who simply didn't select Adel. He sounds more pissed off than that.

Re Swords: I understand what you're saying, and i wouldn't blame morocco whatsoever for not selecting him. But considering there's a history of both walkouts & droppings (as you say), then it's hard to point to either as evidence for what this might be. It's not really my concern who's "at fault" in the poor relationship between tarbs/morroco, i only really want to know whether he's been loyal to our club by turning his country down.

Watching his interview, Taraabt seems absolutely convinced that he refused to go to the ACON. His story has been consistent, and we've got a video of him telling it.
All we've got to the contrary are some mixed textal reports about a Morocco coach than none of us really know.
I'm inclined to believe our player!

With his constant courting of other Clubs do you really believe he has any loyalty to QPR?

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him!

No disrespect Grift. You make a very good argument, extremely well strung together and its hard to disagree with a word you say. I'm just a bit cynical when it comes to the modern pro footballer!

None taken at all! You raise some good points. I do question the veracity of the sources that claim he's said "x y and z" are interested in his services though. Plus, there's a big difference between actively courting clubs and simply regurgitating to the press the sycophantic panderings of his agent (who's bound to tell him AC Milan want him).

Incidently, here's something the coach said in a press conference on the 26th..

..Which apparently when put in a translator gives you:

Tawsa, In answer to questions regarding the relationship with the controversial Adel Taarabt, he said that the latter refused to accept despite an earlier agreement make Tawsa and happy Badu passed down to London .. And increased voter National: "I want to talk with Taarapt for reasons that might make me not أناديه to participate together with the players, especially those already monitored from a lack of discipline, but he did not greet us at all .. The Agent, in spite of his knowledge بتحركنا, boarded a plane he traveled to avoid sitting with us .. this behavior remains totally unacceptable .. and the Moroccan national team than any other player. "

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but i get the impression that rather than turning down the coach outright, Taraabt has made himself very hard to get hold of, and has generally been evasive. Perhaps that's where the discontent between the two comes from

Is that Harry's handwriting?

Who knows, maybe Morocco have a Mickey Mouse set up there? The FAI were tinpot and Keane walked out on them during the World Cup. Maybe Taarabt knows summat we don't?

Maybe but I doubt it.
