There's a shop on Spring Bank (sorry don't know the name and Google Maps is no help either). It's the red shop towards town from Iceland, that's had the pub map in its window for a while now. I keep telling myself one of these days I'll get it, but never get around to it

I've a copy of that rolled up in a cardboard tube at home. bought it in a shop on Spring Bank not far from Iceland, some kind of shop that sold artwork, prints and the like. Can't remember what the shop was called, haven't been down SB in years.

It's right near where Shakespeare's used to be - in the block that starts with the tap and Spile/the old Eagle and finishes with the church and the Asian foodery. Is that right - opposite Albany Street?

I live not too far from spring bank - I'll go have a look in the shop and see if its left, fingers crossed. I'll let you all know the outcome.

Do you know anything about it - what it's for, when it was built, etc?

I think tube / tunnel is now shut / caved in. Check out a site called 28 days later and search for hull. They have great pictures of all the old abandoned buildings. It's a really interesting site - some of a large tube / tunnel like you described.

Don't have to join anything to view the pics or read the comments / reports about the buildings. There are some great pictures and I have to say well done to the guys that take them! Minor issue of trespass I believe but the pictures are well worth looking at. The old flour mill, circus circus, the old department store (manor eyesore), and of course The Lord line building are in there, plenty of others also.

Just to let anyone who's interested know I've been to that shop on spring bank and no prints there. I did however speak to the owner who informed me that although it is out of print he knows who prints them and will have a word as"I could have sold tons of em!"
