    ....well almost.

As some of you may know I work away from home during the week and it seems my efforts have been noticed as I have been offered a promotion with a significant salary rise. Only catch is it's based in Yorkshire, Leeds to be precise and will mean relocating.

I have one month to think about it, already talked with Mrs Gas and she's up for it so looks like it's on.

So once the move is complete I'll be relying on friends & family back home, the media and the forums to keep up to date with my beloved Rovers.

**** knows what I'm going to do on Saturday afternoons when I'd usually be at the Mem<yikes> I have no intention of going to watch one of these dirty Northern teams unless of course they happen to be playing the Gas at home. :)

Take Mrs Gas on a shopping trip. I hear Bristol Cabots Circus is a good shopping centre. You could drop her off while you visit the new UWE stadium ;)

Suppose you will see a few away games then?

Im glad you are leaving, all those school kids will be much safer now <whistle>

I still ended up going to Cheltenham. I was sat there and the misses told me to get a move on, I told her the game was off and basically she said she didn't give a **** she still wanted to go there shopping <laugh>

I have to let Mrs Gas have her way sometimes. I work away all week and my typical weekend when we're playing at home is this: Get home about 5pm ish on Friday, dinner, chat watch tele etc.

Saturday, get up go to cafe for a huge breakfast, go to pub, go to game, go back to pub, go to lots of other pubs <laugh> go home at some stage and collapse pissed up and pissed off (cos we probably lost again):(

Get up Sunday totally ****ed all day and go back to work away Monday morning. :D

They are animals; all bloody animals. No good will come of it.where are you going to get any cider? You will start racing whippets and start talking more strange than you do now. Your conversation with your Missus on any given Saturday will go like this. "Eeh mother got nowt doing t'day.Appen we'll go to shops. Then after you got new hat, we'll get back so I'll do pigeons whilst eee put on brew and cut cake like.

I know Yorkshire well - a very nice part of the world.

York and Bradford aren't too far away, and when we get promoted - and we will - there will be a few more away games to choose from.

    Good luck and best wishes!

    Thanks for the good wishes<ok>

I'm formally accepting the new position next week and we'll start house hunting around Easter. Probably wont actually move untill the summer so at least I can see the remaining home games in our season of doom. <cry>

Starkeys butchers do the best pork pies you'll ever find. They're in a village near Leeds...

If it's working for the same company, can you ask that you work from Bristol every friday (or every other friday but conveniently on home matches) and as part of the package they put you up in a hotel? That way you can go out on friday night without Mrs Gas nagging you about what time you get back, watch the football at the mem and then head back up north on saturday evening! You'll still see Mrs Gas as much as if you were going to football normally save a few hours!
