We do need defensive back up soon though FLT. Another injury to a CB and we are in big trouble!

I agree, the point I was trying to put out there is .. how many points do we expect realistically from United and Chelsea away and Everton at home? I think we can get something against Everton with a very good performance, but the next must win game is away to Wigan which is 4 weeks away.

Yes, we need a CB as cover is weak, but if it is delayed coming in then what will we actually lose?

What we would lose is giving a new signing 2/3 games against top quality premiership oposition to get up to speed. It took Yoshida a good few games to get going and I'd be very worried about throwin in a new defender/defensive partnership against Wigan in February.

Fair point FLT. I agree we can't realistically expect much but we don't want our goal difference shattered. Sooner rather than later for me.

Our pal Tancredi again, not with news on who we were hoping...

Southampton made a bid (unknown) for Bologna danish df Sorensen, according to Sky Italy. Bologna already turned down

I thought we were friends Mr. Bolognese?! :(

To avoid any last game nerves, we need to be picking up the odd points from the bigger teams. Whether that means throwing in new players straight away is a tough call. However i personally think one or two signings that can hit the ground running like Gaston did against Villa could be a good thing.

That's a fair point.

Sounds like mind games to me.

Calgiari have been leaking info about other clubs interested in Astori yet they haven't had any bids. Just an attempt to drive the price up. I wouldn't be surprised if this Sorenson bid has come about to make them think we are looking alse where to force them into a decision.

See who blinks first

Interesting that Sorenson plays for the Danish U21's alongside Nicolai Boilesen. The left back from Ajax we were linked with in the summer.

Havent posted for a while but found this and thought it was worth posting.Don't know how reliable John Cross is but 8 out of 10 seems good.

Hate the way the other journalist talks about Shaw! Certain arrogance about it! Hope Cortese sticks to his guns and tells them to f**koff just to send out a message that Southampton aint going to be a little feeder club anymore!
