I take your point, but the trouble is, there is no guarantee that a team of "good young players" will "storm" the championship. Once back in that league, we could be marooned for years!

If we can keep Harry I'm confident he can bring us straight back up.

    This.
Wrote a few weeks ago that all would not be doom & gloom if we go down. IMHO we were not ready for promotion at any level within the club when we went up. We hadn't had stability for 15 odd years and had just gone through a crazy period of sacking managers for fun. What NW did with us was nothing short of a miracle.
We have several good young players like Adel, Hoillett, Traore, Onouha, Ephram and Diakite. These players did not cost us huge transfer fees, are not crippling us with exorbitant wages and are under contract. These are our future. If you add the experience of Mackie, Green, Hill and Faurlin to these younger players then IMO we have a solid foundation for next year whether in the Prem or Champ. As Northy said above, Harry has to stay.

I think Hogan is in the last chance salon now, because he is no longer a "kid" and under a succession of managers since Jan 2008 he has never really featured in their plans consistently. Unless HR can see something that NW and MH have missed, I dont see him featuring.

If we fall through the trapdoor screaming, we won't know whether Harry or TF is with us until we hit the ground hard.

It's a good coping strategy. Assume the worst and and everything that comes along is either good like the Chelsea match or already accounted for.

Can everybody repeat the mantra of the day .....

We are not relegated yet !!
We are not relegated yet !!
We are not relegated yet !!

Ffs, some on here seem to see nothing but doom and ****ing gloom. Didn't see 'em celebrating much last week, and TBH, IF we did shock spuds on Saturday, don't think they will be back again then either.

I hope that's not aimed at me Stainesy as I'd left the Board a couple of days before the Chelsea game because of something I disagreed with. If I had of been posting I would've been celebrating as much as anyone, I can assure you.

I did give them a good roasting on the Chelsea Board though!

Not you particularly Swords, and not particularly anyone on this board either. In the real world too there are quite a few of our 'fans' who have us doomed already and it just pisses me off a wee bit. The season is far from over yet.

That's fair enough mate. I know it must piss the optimists off having to read through all the negativity all the time.

I do believe that we have to win on Saturday though mate. We've got ourselves into such a desperate position that we're forced to beat good teams because we lost to all the bad ones. A bit like last season really.............only a lot worse.

Still, we stayed up last year when I thought we was gone so you could be right old boy!

It's not just about being optimistic Swords.....more like not being defeatist.
Of course we are in deep **** and things do look bleak, but some just seem to look for any negative they can at anytime.

But as I've said before IF (not WHEN) we do go down, I'll still be there every other Saturday.

The win at Chelsea must give everyone believe it's back on , we have 4 points less than we did at the same stage last season. And we also had the handicap of Mark Hughes & his clueless 'taffia' ****s.
    It's game on<grr>
