@OfficialFOXES: Neil Danns joins Huddersfield Town on loan until the end of the season. He'll be unavailable when #lcfc face #htafc in the #FACup.

I wouldn't have a clue who played for Hull 20 years ago to be fair.

I´ve let him off aswell. At first I thought he (OLM) was trying to start a fight with us.

<ok> I take it all back OLM.

You missed the comma after sorry .. actually he was a really solid full-back for us, extremely commited, the type who would die for the cause... as such he'll always be warmly remembered and welcomed by older supporters like me...

Difference being, Grayson played for us in the Prem, when Hull were finishing 91st in the football ladder every year and OLM was probably supporting Leeds. <ok>

You've got to be the thickest bloke on this entire site, all you ever post is about us not winning a trophy and the fact that our owner is a Muslim. #onetrickponyracist

OK, you might have been supporting Hull back then, but I bet some of your fellow prolific posters weren't (Charlie wasn't born so he doesn't count).

By the way, what kind of attendances were you getting when you struggled in League Two? Not taking the piss, just interested.

The last time we were in the Third Division(or League Two as it is now), which was the 2003-04 season, we averaged about 16,500 from memory, by far the highest in the league. There were two seasons in the 90's when everyone thought we'd go out of business and the gates were sometimes locked for games and average attendances dropped below 4,000, but that was a particularly grim time. In the second tier in the 50's, we averaged 40-50,000, exceeding 55,000 for some games, if we ever manage to make it a fiver to get in again, we might get back to the same level...

Grayson's Leeds didn't play hoofball at all. It was balanced. A few of the centre-backs like the clueless Bruce, O'Brien and Naylor in his later days just didn't know what passing on the ground meant, and tended to punt it up to Luciano. This was generally met with anger from the Leeds technical area.

But when we had the players to make good counter-attacking play in 10-11, we played football only surpassed by Swansea and Norwich in its aesthetic quality.

Eh? In no season in the 50s did Hull ever average 40k, let alone 50k. There were three freak seasons over 30k: '49-51. They were lucky to break 25k in most seasons in the early 50s according to those stats, and they steadily plummeted to around 10k by the end of that decade. Hardly that impressive except for those three anomalies.
