Maybe not, but more wit and sarcasm are far more likely than us getting the required 25points captain.

I have to agree with that. People are getting carried away with the result at Chelsea. Brilliant night and all that it was, the fact is we lost 3 games prior to that, all of which were against lower or mid-table teams. Our defensive performance last week was brilliant and Tarbs' hold up play up top was exceptional (he was the best player on the park, easy) but as shown on Saturday, we can't put back to back performances together. We've not done it all season.

    You can say that again.

The 2 things that gives me hope that all is not lost YET is that despite a losing streak over the benchmark Christmas period, we are still in touch with 17th and 16th place and no one has really pulled away from us in the bottom 5-6 places over this period.

The second thing is the Chelsea performance and result. 30+ years since we won there and we returned to win there after a 6-1 hiding under MH last term. Whilst it is very easy to speculate, I think a team under MH last week would have been battered at Stamford Bridge. I do not think it was luck that we won our first game at SB for 30+ years, I think it was due to a change in mentality.

My hope is that this year's Chelsea win is last year's Liverpool at home win that galvanizes the club and its supporters to go on a run and I hope that we will therefore at this stage have bottomed out under a poor manager, replaced him and are now on the way back up whilst other clubs are still very inconsistent and yet to make managerial changes to address this.

As each week now passes each result as the remaining 17 games ticks down will either increase that hope or begin to diminish it and probably diminish it quite quickly if we are not winning home games consistently in the next 4-5 weeks..

Okay, perhaps all is not quite lost just yet. But anything less than a win on Saturday and its curtains.

Whilst we all know what he's trying to achieve, only 'Arry knows how he's going to go about sorting us out.

Case of watch this space. Nothing else WE can do. Not much different to match days then!

What a load of old Pony. We are playing a very good team on Saturday and I don't expect much from it to be honest. It doesn't mean curtains if we lose it as the others might not pick up many points either.

Lordy lord. You're forgetting the fact that we lost to three teams (one sh*t and two mediocre) during the Xmas, games that we needed to win. Its because of that ineptness against lesser teams that means we have to win against good teams to make up for it. If we were up table somewhere then a home draw against Spurs wouldn't be that bad.

You do realise that we're bottom of the league with 13 points from 21 games?

You've set the cat upon the pigeons, Nines <laugh>

Seriously, if there was a choice between (a) Harry buying good young players, being relegated and having a storming season in the Championship next season, and (b) signing more bloated oldies who just manage to keep us up...I'd go for (a), even though TF's accountants wouldn't agree with me.

Too right ............... it was the large volume of empty space between MH's ears. It's a wonder he didn't just float away ................. wish he would of, many moons ago!
