Feel sorry for our travelling support yesterday but probably for the best as I said pre match. It opened our eyes to a few things though:

    1. Our reserves and young players are not very good
    2. I was wrong about Abeid, and apologise for criticising Pardew for not playing him
    3. Sammy is not good enough at present and badly needs a loan (he may never be good enough)
    4. Santon cannot defend on the left side
    5. Shola should not start games
    6. Bigi although he has admirable work rate, struggles with positional discipline
    7. Obertan may not have improved as much as we thought
    8. Pardew is steeling himself for a relegation battle
    9. Our ball retention is 2nd rate when we don't have our big guns
    10. The players are feeling the strain

Hello you, feeling better I hope.

The way l have been feeling about Mr Pardew today, the only job he would qualify for would be As Chief Eunuch.

Is Pardew a one season wonder?

He did really well with you last year, but this year seems to be struggling (maybe a slight understatement there)

When he was with West Ham, I know a lotf of their fans didn't want him, but he did a good job and they changed their opinion of him. However, in the 2nd season, if I remember rightly, things turned against him again.

Just wondering if he can only do it once, before he is found out.

Glenn Roeder was another such manager, as we found out to our cost.

There was something about Roeder I liked, a bit more trustworthy in my opinion than Pards.

In think part of the problem with having trust in Pardew, is that he has come out with statements in the past and then not kept to them or the club have done the opposite thing to what he promised.
To be fair to Pardew, a lot of that stemmed l suspect from Ashley and Co not being straight with him or doing things behind his back. Pardew then has egg all over his face and a reputation as not being credible at best or downright untrustworthy at worst.
That seems to suggest that perhaps it would be best if he said nothing, but we get no communication from the higher echelon, so Pardew is left with no option.

Roeder certainly alienated the fans towards the end of his time with us. came across as very arrogant and basically said the fans didn't know that much, thats why we were fans and he was the manager.

Not the greatest of starts to the day apart from the football.

Our first sight of Brighton after the coach had pulled into the Parking lot.

Two points (apologies if either of these have already been mentioned):

    1. Pardew hinted during his post match interview that Cabaye and Taylor (I assume Stevie) MAY be back for Norwich... anyone have more on this?

    2. For the love of god, will someone cut Bigi's hair.

I 2nd these points. Although Bigi does own a hair salon which is the scary thing <laugh> I know Saylor, Raylor and Cabaye are all back running. Benni must be close too surely? This suggests 5 back for Norwich out of the 10 out. Benni is looking like Feb though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody remember the schoolboys #9 favourite, Baldy Hogan? Come on Jim, you can own up to it.

Was wondering if this might be a relation of his.

A bit late I know but I thought I'd add my thought on the game.

Apart from the obvious of only starting 2 of our first team/purple players (or what ever you want to call them) we were always going to struggle in this game because of the style of players we put out. When you start with both the Ameobis, Obertan and Abeid you know you are not going to put any pressure on opposition when we haven't got the ball. Shola totally loses interest as soon as he loses the ball. Although I rate Anita he hasn't got the presents of Tiote. Saturday was the first I've seen him in the flesh. I didn't realise quite how small and slight he is. I was half expecting him to leave the pitch before the start with the other mascots

To be fair Brighton did play well but they were allowed to.

I'm just hoping to god that I don't see Shola in the starting line up too often this season.

That's it really. Just off to go and buy an inordinate amount of cotton wool to wrap Cisse in.
