Same here, was intending to go but price of ticket and on a Wednesday night I'm going to save the 70 quid I would probably spend overall and put it towards Newcastle away
I'm not too fussed about this match as I've got my ticket for Villa - really looking forward to it. It's more important we take a large number of fans to the Villa game.
Quite agree Tom. I couldnt plan for the Chelski away game as date wasnt known til last minute, but i have also got tickets for Villa Park on Sat and looking forward to it. We need another 'Loftus Road moment' this Sat !
The short notice of it all is pretty ridiculous too. I fall into the "non-season ticket holder who's been to an away game" category, but by the time I would be eligible to buy (if it even gets that far!), tickets have to be picked up from st Mary's. Given I live in London, that's a bit of an ask!
I've just been on the Chelsea webs site and have a plan. Tickets in the home end are going on general sale tomorrow from 2:30 pm. I work in London too so I'm gonna take myself to the box office tomorrow 2pm ish and get one in the home end. The away end is bound to sell out isnt?! How many does the away end hold, about 2000 or sommit?? No chance
That would have been a problem for me had I decided to splash out £47. I would have to have got the train down to Southampton which would have cost me another £20. So the ticket would effectively cost me £67. **** no!
I have a secret of how to get cheap tickets for the game (legally) but I am not going to share it as I want you all to pay full price and financially support our club.
City's tickets to arsenal on Sunday are £62 which is a disgrace They tried to get a boycott organised on our bluemoon website to no avail We still sold out It just tells arsenal it's ok to charge it Chelsea was £53 for us this year
Ha, I'm sure my £47 will go a massive way to 'financially support' about a couple of minutes of Torres' wages...
That is a disgrace considering Arsenal charged Saints as low as £25 for tickets to the Emirates. I know that Arsenal v Saints is a lot less prestigious than Arsenal v City but that is still a huge difference in price.
I have to agree with you! Ticket prices nowadays from some clubs are ridiculous... us charging you £47 for a midweek game is too much. For us, clubs always make us pay the premium amount. We paid £62 for tickets to Arsenal... £62! OK.. it is in London so travel costs for us Chelsea fans as minimal but even so it is ridiculous. Out of question... how much did Stoke charge you boys when you played them at the Britannia not long ago?
Villa Park is a good away ground. I was in the lower tier last time I went about half a metre from the Villa fans (towards the half way line)... had some great banter with them. The away pub we went to was the Cap and Gown pub. The away fans are taken around the back of the pub past the drain pipes and sewers where we got served warm beer while the Villa fans were inside... Not the best but near to the ground.
