I don't know if it was just the speaker near me in the East Stand or if it was the same round the rest of the ground but who was it who came on called Doggie Wilson ?
The speaker near me, e3 at the top, hasn't been working properly for as long as I can remember. Everything sounds echoy and ****, can never hear a word that's said.
I didn't think it was just me. When his name was announced some people around me were doing woofing and growling noises.
It sounded better in the West Stand. But i agree, normally i'm in the east stand and it's hard to hear everything.
I noticed it too. I was sat in E2 and I could bearly hear what he was saying. Even when it was through the more quiet patch. Just the noise around me of people talking was enough to drown the sound of the guy with the mic. I didn't have a clue what he was saying, nor did I hear the team or any subs. Since my eye sight isn't the best I rely on being able to hear the guy for team news etc. It's been like it for ages. Normally too loud and muffled. Now they appear to have tried turning the volume down to increase the clarity of his voice, but that hasn't worked either.
Sat in the West Lower Prem seats yesterday and the PA is excellent there - however in my usual E7 seat it is very poor and needs sorting - just poor housekeeping of the KC by the SMC stemming from the AP days when he wouldn't seemingly spend any money. The Club needs to get this and other things sorted.
I'm sure it violates all sorts of H&S rules. What if an emergency evacuation order was broadcast on the PA and half the east stand couldn't hear it ?
When it came over the PA sounding like Doggie Wilson and people around me turned it into a bonkers Crufts with woofing and growling it was some welcome light relief from a dog of a game.
I don't know if this is bending it a bit much. I thought some of City's passing was a bit Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. That's nonsense, I'll edit it later.
I think it was a bit of a pointer as to how SB treats cup games. No need to get hot under the collar about it. Suggest you get in touch with the club if you have a bone to pick.
To us this is inconsequential cup game, but to Orient it's a mastiff game. I'm not going all the way to Leyton though, ****-kennel, it's almost as far as Barking.
