With remy looking less likely by the minute just wondering what kind of player we want to replace Ba with,
Would you like a like for like replacement, maybe sow carroll or doumbia (i think he'de be a great buy) (im sure there are plenty more people can think of)?
Would you like a nippy little forward to compliment cisse and ameobi like agbonglahor (god knows if that's spelt right) ince, welbeck (out of favour at man u but probably wouldnt be interested) or would you welcome back martins?
Or a young talent from one of the lower leagues ? Rhodes, Zaha and Ince to name a few?

People might think im stupid saying this but i think we should take a punt on Akinfenwa, he may not look conventional (see bellow) but i f you've ever seen him play he's actually quite good! he's young, an absolute tank and he has a great shot and would go on the cheap

Jesus Christ when did Ronnie Coleman sign for Northampton? That lad looks far too big for his own good...never seen him play like so I can't comment, but could be back the pace of the premier league for 90 minutes carrying a small child's worth of bicep around?

I dont know thats the thing, but he certainly looks very good in the lower leagues and i doubt many players in pl would have come up against someone like him

Would Doumbia not cost upwards of £15M easily?

I'm guessing its due to QPR preparing him a bigger pay package than us. We are clinging to the hope he will accept a smaller pay packet to pay in front of a bigger crowd...

Thanks Stevie, l was aware of the supposed QPR bid/wages etc, which if true are just plain bonkers. It was the way the OP seemed so sure that this was a non starter, that led me to think there must have been a new development. So l guess we wait and see.

According to the Journal Harry is in Marseille now to talk to their club president about Remy. I've not heard anything specifically about where this contingent from Newcastle are supposed to be. I would guess Marseille would be one of the visits they plan to make but who knows?

That title reminds me of this............

    "WHAT DO WE WANT?"

    "A CURE FOR OBESITY!"

    "WHEN DO WE WANT IT?"

    "AFTER DINNER!"

Also Marseille have Barton on loan and assuming they want to keep him it puts the R's in a much stronger bargaining position than us.

Also some guys on twitter say that there is noone from the toon at the Marseille game so either we are not interested in Remy or we have already conceded the battle.

Was just thinking the very same thing, l do wonder how hard Lambsarse and co try to broker these deals. Knowing now tight they are, l think we could be forgiven for thinking that once the other side starts playing hard ball, we just pack up and Gan Yem.

I'm not sure QPR are that desperate for strikers... They've got Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora to come back yet, plus Cisse and Jamie Mackie.

I want Andy Carroll back here... well you did ask!

I can wait until the summer for his return - let me know once it's finalised would you? <cool>
