    From the BBC

"Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes his squad requires a handful of "entertainers" to become a more competitive Premier League outfit.

"We need to bring players in Newcastle fans love that can get you out of your seat," Pardew told BBC Newcastle.

"We need one or two of them on top of what we've got and then we can go forward and be really competitive."

France international winger Hatem Ben Arfa should be back from a broken leg for next season to add creativity.

Another of Newcastle's long-term injured, defender Steven Taylor, made his return to the Magpies first team in Saturday's 2-1 home win against Birmingham.

Taylor was drafted into Pardew's plans after a broken arm ended Mike Williamson's season, and the 25-year-old scored United's second goal. The three points secured top-flight safety for the club.

"I thought Steven was outstanding, I could see a determination in him," Pardew said.

"I've been speaking to him a lot about the start of his career - he was the man, he was going to be the centre-half. It was about aggression and commitment, and he showed that today.

"It was a fantastic goal, he attacked that, no-one was going to get in his way, and his defending and passing was on the money today.

"He showed what a good player he can be for us next year. We have a good base to work from."" <ok>

Park Ji Sung is too old and Man Utd would never sell. However Kranjcar is a definite yes from me!

Kranjcar is not one for me. Park would never be sold and is getting on a tad.

I can't think of any really. Think we'll sign Ireland though.

I'd take Ireland for £5m max as long as his wage isn't too big. Form is temporary, class is permanant as an annoying fat jock always used to say...

The most creative person I know of is Rolf Harris.

I knew that newspaper article would fool Barca. The one where Shola thought he was burgled but then stated "I'm really messy"

I have this feeling that Skjelbred could retire from football and we'd still link ourselves with him :)

  16. I'll be happy with Krancjar and Ba plus another striker. I think Gervinho and Gameiro are basically a dream that will never happen.

Two strikers, some squad players, Krancjar and another CB.
