I'd love this motherlover at the toon - A big target man, hard working, great awareness with headed & chested knockdowns, lethal overheads and all in all a good dude!

Play him with a dangerous poacher like Moussa Sow or Demba Ba and they could be a handful!

    What do you peeps think?

    Please be joking
A big target man-yes hard to deny
Hard working-yes credit where credits due
unable to hit a barn door-sadly also yes

he is also as you said a pretty decent guy but IMO not a great striker

No way. He is a taller version of Ameobi IMO.

No, please no, we'd have to pay over the top for him as he's English aswell, will get you 5-10 goals a season.

Despite his height he is still awful at heading the ball. I hope we stay WELL away from Crouch.

  11. **** THE TARGET MAN SET UP.

I don't want to go back to the early season target man ****.

I want us to play creative, passing, attacking football with 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1.

Good player is Crouch, very under rated in my opinion, if we got him and someone decent to partner him with a bit of pace It wouldnt be the worst thing in the world, we could still do better though mind, but is a massive step up from Shola.

He topped himself after his second session with Hoadie.

His team record is quite poor. 99 goals in 362 apps.

However, his international record is one of the best. 22 goals in 42 appearances. He should be a more regular starter in the England squad imo.

**** me! You are are constantly banging on about target men and long balls/crosses into the box! You were saying very different things the other week on this thread...

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ond-thoughts-about-him?highlight=jonas season

Make your mind up mate, you argued the toss when people suggested we should look for more technical/attacking players as opposed to long balls towards a target man. You often slate Jonas and Praise Barton but if you want to move on from the "target man" ethos then Jonas is the kind of player we should look to with his attacking runs and defence splitting dribbles. Barton is known for his long balls, usually towards a target man ie; Nolan, Ameobi and Carroll.

I said this a while ago and I stick by it...

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/41381-Jonas-Gutierrez-next-season...?highlight=jonas season

I totally agree that we need to stop depending on long balls and play to the strengths of Jonas and Ben Arfa etc as well as preserving the depth in our first team by keeping Barton in for his crosses when they're needed.

And yes, **** target men. ENOUGH OF THE TARGET MEN.

Whenever we have one we just play long balls all the time and the football becomes ****. For once we have creative players like Barton, Jonas and Ben Arfa, along with more to come in the Summer. Let's make the most of it, play creative football and create opportunities. You won't see a team getting very high up in the league without taking this approach.

We do NEED a target man... but one that is happy to be an impact sub for when we're up **** creek and unable to break teams down with our Barca football. A proven Premier League striker that can do a job, make a real impact, trouble defences.
