How does anybody know enough to answer this question or evaluate Freund's contribution come to that? Presumably it's a management team headed by AVB. Therefore AVB takes the blame or the credit.
So how are people reaching negative conclusions with regards Freund's appointment? I don't necceserily disagree with them, but how are they reaching such a conclusion?
I have no idea, but it's quite common for people to rush to judgement on all sorts of things with little hard evidence to go on. The media is asking people all the time to voice their opinion on things with very little in the way of facts to go on. Never before have there been so many opinions based on so little by so many.
My judgement on Freund is most certainly not based on 'rush' and neither is it based on 'little hard evidence'. It is based on meeting with the guy and seeing how he works. .
That's great OS but you are not the only one expressing an opinion here. What do the others base their opinion, negative or positive, on? Bearing in mind that your's is an opinion based on knowledge and personal experience but it's still only an opinion that is personal to you albeit a valid one. For me to make a judgement based on your opinion would be wrong IMO.
I'm with Spurf as usual! We might need a bloody DNA test But really...For me Freund deserves credit...even if he is just 'jeeing' the boys up...it's working
I have no idea why others are forming the opinion they do Spurf, and to be honest, I am not the slightest bit bothered if you take any notice of my opinion or not.
Out of interest, is Freund doing the press conferences now? Before and after matches I keep seeing articles based on quotes from him and none from AVB.
Now you mention it, he does seem to have been put in the front line in the past 10 days or so. His family are still based in Germany and he has been spending time away from the club visiting them, which understandably has left him open to criticism from within the club. His family has been over here for the Xmas and New Year break so maybe he has seen this as a chance to remind people he is alive and kicking so to speak.
Ah, I thought it might have been like how Platt often does City's interviews when Mancini can't be bothered. When you say family does he have a wife and kids out there or do you mean like parents, cousins and aunts?
Ah right, that's understandable then. I guess it's more common in football than I thought, I figured VDV was pretty much a one off.
Interesting thought YV. There's quite a few of the players who are married and even more who are not married yet have kids !!!! We also have a player who is engaged to a team-mates' sister !!!!
OS I think you misunderstand me, I am not criticising your opinion, the opposite in fact. You are in a position to have such an opinion having as you said seen him at work. I respect that, however I and others who have no contact with Freund other than what we can glean from the media or watching the matches are in no position to express sensible opinions about him.
I like his theories about the unconscious mind. Perhaps the cocaine played a part. If you've got an urge for a kebab, that's because I've secretly inserted suggestive images and you're having subliminal thoughts http://www.tittsworth.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/doner-kebab.jpg
