Now it isn't right to single out one player, after a bad performance. And I know with a username like mine, it seems like I have an agenda (I don't), but I really don't believe Sammy Ameobi should be at the club.

Of course, it's not just him. Nile Ranger, James Tavernier, Xisco and Mike Williamson can all pack their bags in the near future, but really, I truly feel the only reason Sammy is hanging around is because his brother is a cult hero amongst the players, and some fans (me anyway).

Sammy fancies himself as a dribbler. At 6ft 4, somebody has got to tell him that is not feasible. All of the best dribblers in the world have a low centre of gravity, such as Lionel Messi, Aaron Lennon and Theo Walcott. Now you could point out that Gareth Bale is over 6ft - which he is - but the reason his dribbling is so effective is because it is so damn powerful. The aforementioned players listed don't have the upper body strength or the racehorse stamina of the Welshman, so they would rely on intricate ball play.

Sorry to break it to you, Sammy, but you do not have the strength, the necessary ball skills or the ability to play as a dribbling winger. Every touch of his looks like he's struggling to keep the ball under control. Take a look at Marveaux or Ben Arfa - the ball is effortlessly stuck to their foot. THEY control the BALL. Not the other way around, as in Sammy's case.

I'm sorry, but the lad is too gangly and not gifted enough to make it as a winger, and his finishing is pretty dreadful too. The shot onto the post at Old Trafford looked like a scuffed finish, as did the Ameobi-Cisse goal against West Brom.

There are players that are very useful to have in the squad. Marveaux and Obertan could be fantastic impact subs or start when needed. Bigirimana is one for the future. But Sammy Ameobi should kindly leave. Watching today, it looks like we should have kept Kazenga LuaLua over him, and without sounding cynical, if Lomana was still here instead of Shola, I'm guessing we would.

He is crap. Abeid is crap as well.

Honestly, my heart sinks when Sammy comes on as a 'game changer'. I fear we are going to see this lad for another 10 years, always hoping that he will become a good player, always giving him a chance. One day he will grow up and fill out and score the occasional important goal, but never be good enough to become prolific and will be in and out the team.

Have I seen this before somewhrere...?

This lad is very poor to be considered good enough for the Premiership. No strength, No pace and lazy. Pardew says he can provide a piece of magic during a game but the trouble is which game. It's a long time coming whichever one it is.

Sounds just like his brother. Sorry but he needs to go out on loan or move on.

Agree that a loan move would do him good development wise, he has some talent, (enough for the Prem) l am not sure. He is raw and a bit headless chicken at times, but if he were playing more games, not for our first team and definitely not during our current precarious run of form, then he would be able to develop the vision and positioning sense that is sadly lacking at present.
A bigger problem with Sammy is that he is not putting in enough effort in general, seems to want the glory moment, but not the graft, and considering how many times he concedes possession, that is not a good trait.

He's young, learning the game and has shown glimpses of ability. However at the moment he is a LIABILITY.

Should not be forced to represent this club yet along with Abeid, Dummet, Tavernier, Ferguson, Vuckic, Ranger... you could add more I'm sure.

But a player like Sammy, even once developed, is a LUXURY player. Our side cannot afford to carry the inexperience and mistakes of a fledgling luxury player.

Loan him out and sign some experience...

    This is so right.
I dislike seeing Sammy in the team NOW because he's too raw. It's obvious, he gives the ball away far more than he does conjure up something. He needs time to develop his play... As many have said loan him, don't depend on him.

    WAKE UP LADS.

He's in the team because there isn't anybody else.

Pardew has said that he is consistently fielding players who shouldn't be anywhere near the first team, but it's either that or, today, only have two [players on the pitch.

Of course he's too lightweight for the prem, Yes, a loan move would be good for him. Absolutely we should have better choices available. We don't thiough, and it's not Sammy's fault.

As for the final verdict, I would have given one on Perch at the beginning of last season, and on the basis of much more evidence. I would have been wrong.

The problem is not ameobi but th fact that our squad is so stupidly small
That we need to depend on him when he is not ready.
He might have a bright future but him being a match changer
Is a joke and could ruin him
He needs to be in league one on loan to learn his trade.
I am not saying dont play the youth as with all the first team playing you could get away with playing him
But with a team full of williamsons, ranger etc we are screwed
