The Fail is reporting 'difficulties' with both Robbie Brady and Elmo: http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-17767935-detail/story.html? http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-17767937-detail/story.html? If we fail to hold on to them, then things will look very different!
Do we have anyone else that can fill their position to the same effect if we don't keep them? I think not!! Now that's a worry
Time for Papa to spend big. £1.5m for each of Elmo, Brady and Campbell. It's worth it if we can stay in 2nd and gain some of those Premier League riches. If we go up we should try the current squad in the PL with perhaps two more signings in the summer. Rosenior and Dawson cannot fill Elmo and Brady's boots.
We have seen what these two can do, spend the cash and back Bruce Mr Allam. Could be a missed opportunity if we don't.
I will actually cry if this happens. Please Martin, please Sir Alex, do not **** up our chances. Bruce, Allam, if needs must, then I think putting in offers for these two is an absolute certainty.
I Hate this January window.....it always creates so much posturing and intrique! It's ok if we get something at the end but this suspense does my old ticker no good....Shame that Brady has gone back as he had matured so much from when he was last with us but, its a few days until our next leauge game so, hopefully, we can extend the loan.....It becomes a concern though if they are looking to sell and other teams are interested. I wouldn't want to get drawn into a bidding battle as I would imagine funds are limited and are to be used for a striker...which seems ever more likely now Aaron has moved on......Elmo would be an even bigger loss though but, hopefully its just MON speculating again.......seems that happened with Meyler as well. We appear to be in the hands of the parent clubs which is always the downsides of loans especially when they play well...its just a shop window for them and garners interest from other clubs.....It would be a blow of either, of hopefully not, both of these players end up leaving...I would find it difficult to imagine who would replace them....roll on the end of the month!
Sounds like O'Neill is trying to bring some cash in the way he very publicly states that we haven't bid for Campbell and Elmo could have to come back. Its like he is saying if you want them then put up the money. Think a 2.5 million bid would get both. The fact Brady wants to come to us and the good relationship we have with United should all work in our favour. Think the mail is just trying to scare us!!
I'm sure Bruce and AA are savy enough to be looking elsewhere, just in case. Whilst I dont think anyone will want them to leave, no one is bigger than the club.
Such bull. This is just HDM being dramatic, why would either be a problem, ok Brady maybe sold to another team but Elmo would be just sat out.
Positive waves.... This could be good. If Papa has to splash out on RB big time instead of try and get an extended loan with an option then there is no turning back and he will want to back it up with a goal machine. No point in splashing out on only half the jigsaw and it shows a real statement of intent or, positive waves.
If it's not the HDM just filling space, it could be that the auctioneers at Man.U. and Sunlan are warming up....
well said, just what i was thinking. At the end of the day they are not our players, put some money on the table and see where it takes us.
I think some on here are looseing sight of what is really going on here. Elmo is a boro player. Brady is a manu player. Elmo came here for 1 season only on loan. If it worked out AND we get promoted, we have a option to sign him perminently for a agreed fee. Thats IF boro want rid. There is nothing to say o'neil won't tell us to pish off and stick him back in there squad for next season. Brady was here last season and imo, he was too raw and not worth the hype. He went back to manu and played 3 months in there reserves as a wing back. That has totally changed him and this season he is a reverlation. The first thing in Joycey and Fergies mind is can this kid make it in the manu first team. If the answer is yes then we have no fooking chance of signing him. The lads may be wearing our shirt but we don't own them. They are hear for experence and gametime / development on behalf of there parent club first and foremost. Everything else is irelivant
We must have first option on either, they love it here - get the cash out. Barmby was blamed for not spending last Jan, after all the talk by the Allams looks like there in a bit of a corner. Dont spend and its a bit hypocritical, but they didn't want to be spending the amount that its gonna take to get Brady, Elmo, Meyler and a striker.
