Cant we just give him to Grimsby?? He's 22 FFS, I cant see him playing for the first team again.... http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-17758626-detail/story.html?
He's another one of those like Will Atkinson, Good player, But no stregnth whatsoever. He'll end up going down the same 'Promising Youngster' path as Bradshaw, Fry, Featherstone and Donaldson.
Its been 3/4 years since he made his debut and he's still as lightweight as ever. The coaching staff cant have seen that much of him or they would have worked on his physique to help him push for a first team place.
Good luck to him, he really now needs to find a permanent club, but he should do very well at the league level the Mariners are in just now.
So 4 years possibly as a professional, how much money have we paid him in that time? When it was obvious even at 18/19 he needed to bulk up to have the strength to compete at this level.
He won't have been on big money, he only ever made 16 league appearances for us and he's still fairly young.
I don't remember ever hearing any numbers on what our youth players got, but I definitely wouldn't expect it to be as high as £3k a week, maybe half that(much less for the two years before he made a first team appearance), I suppose that's still £2-300k in wages though.
Nah, I'm sure he will mature in to a good player in his mid twenties. Plenty of players are lightweight but adapt to it and playing in lower leagues certainly no place for someone who's lightweight
