It's official, he's spilled the beans on an interview on QPR player. If his club-legend status wasn't already decided, then this should certainly do the trick. He's risked becoming the most hated footballer in his home country purely to help QPR get out of their mess. It's on a par with Lee Cook's donation of his signing on fee to Fulham in my opinion. What a hero!

Good lad! I want him to stay at our club until he retires.

But with respects to your comparison with what Lee Cook did, I'm sorry but nothing tops that. Giving his whole transfer packet back to qpr? Come on now.

    This, good gesture though.

Makes that nutter who called 606 after the Liverpool game right all along........

Though after his Barcelona and AC Milan bollocks, I wonder how closely aligned to reality some of Adel's statements are. Who cares if he delivers the goods for us.

I thought that he'd just not been selected? I seem to remember a quote from him before saying that Harry asked him to stay but that he couldn't turndown his country of something? If it's true that he turned down the ACON for us, then he's just gone way up in my estimation as a person.

Adel is QPR in every way right now. The look on his face when SWP scored and when we won said it all, but this news confirms it. Now let see what happens when ManU put in a January bid in for him.................

I mentioned the same on another thread a week or so ago. A nutty Moroccon phoned into 606 and said Adel was hated in Morocco 'cos he decided not to play for his country, helping us to stay up instead.
General feeling was the bloke was talking out of his backside......not so sure now.

That was initially the story that was rolled out, presumably to divert some of the backlash that would be heading his way.
As SB mentioned, a few days ago an enraged Moroccan guy called into 606 saying Taraabt had in actuality been approached by the national team coach, and had turned him down.
That was the first i'd heard of it- but in the new interview on QPRplayer today Adel openly admits to having refused to go to the ACON..

When asked about playing in a new position:

"i was very surprised. the manager tell me i was gona play up front, i never think about it- i never play in this position in my life. But i tell him myself, i am here for the team, i did a lot of things for this club. And i even refused to go to the African cup...it was very hard for me. To refuse the african cup, and still we don't have a result, is difficult for me. But today with these three points is very very good for the confidence."

Amazing player, can't say enough about him. Worth the entrance money every time.

They're not. But the fact is that Adel is not a regular starter for them. Knew he had issues with the previous coach, seems they may have carried over to the new one.

    Go Adel!

We must get a better chant for that young man.

Course he's a/our hero. He's been at the forefront of all things Rangers since the day he got here. Plenty good stuff, some bad, some ugly - BUT like Rodney and Stan, he's made his presence felt to the extent that we all know him more intimately than any of the other players (with the possible but grudging exception of Joey B). We know Adel's temperament and those moods of his that can so madly affect ours. We know his highs, lows and in betweens, what miracles he can produce and what basics he can't; and even to the extent of most of us knowing exactly where his game's at now, before and in future, all being well. He's transparently our frustratingly mercurial Moroccan!

So we also know when he's bullshitting.

Nothing found anywhere to remotely suggest Rachid Taoussi selected Adel for their ACon squad. Taoussi's been their manager since September and hasn't included Taraabt in any of the three games since. IF he's even spoken to Taoussi, I'd bet the best Adel would've got was a 'no guarantee of a place in the starting lineup' - and that wouldn't have suited Adel (so there just might've been a 'forget it then' said... ).

I dunno but Adel made it pretty clear to one and all that he'd go if selected - and very much wanted to.

Wouldn't put it past him to milk it - for a bit more love and adoration! Certainly within his character to do so, don'cha fink? Anyway, who cares?!!

Its not as though he has risked not getting a winners medal and at the end of the day we employ him and pay him money millions could only dream about.
What about the money he may lose if we are relegated
