When Ba has been in form, he's been classed as one of the best strikers in the league, and the start of this season has lead people to assume that Ba is better, and that Cisse's goal scoring form last season was just a set of flukes or a standard that he will never again reproduce.

Against Everton, it was the first game without Ba, and Cisse looked a lot more threatening. A fantastic first goal, great positioning and great header. He almost scored another header, but a player who didn't even know where he was luckily got in the way, and when it came back, Cisse made this ****ing amazing lightning scorpion kick, and he was unlucky not to beat Howard. Then he got into another great position, and all Santon needed to do was square it to Cisse, and Cisse would have had a tap in.

You do not just lose the sort of quality he produced last season, and the stuff he produced last season, Ba will never ever do.

My opinion of them both last season was Cisse was the better goalscorer/poacher/finisher, and Ba was the better all round player, because Ba worked hard on the wing and helped Cisse out. But recently it's looked different. IMO Cisse has more all round ability. Better touches, better passing, and works hard.

But now that Ba is gone, we'll see how Cisse does stepping into the number one striker slot. It will be interesting to see how change our style.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Cisse will start scoring and will end the season with around 15 goals.

I've always maintained that Cisse is better than Ba and always thought Ba is a ball greedy ****er who was detriment to our best methods of play.

I agree, now we will see!!

Different types of strikers for me so will always be difficult to compare. Ba's is obviously a lot better with his back to goal whereas Cisse is far better running in behind. Cisse's all round game has come on leaps and bounds by playing wide. He has improved his hold up play and links better with his teammates now. Just much more to his game which I think will benefit him in the weeks ahead and long term. I'm sure he'll get back to scoring regularly.

Both excellent forwards who have both been brilliant for the club at various stages. I doubt you'll ever get the answer to that question to be honest. If Cisse can get his performance level on a par with Ba this season I'll be a happy man. Shame we couldn't keep both (though I think they needed to be in competition for one spot), but once a club like Chelsea comes in and there is a clause, its a question of when!

I genuinely think Cisse will eclipse Ba.

Both great strikers but from an outsiders point of view Ba let Cisse down this season by being gready and trying to put himself in the shop window. From the game`s i watched on sky it looked like Cisse was trying to play for the team and Ba was trying to play to get a goal, many times he went for the shot when Cisse was in a better position and the pass was on.

Absolutely no question Demba Ba is the better of the two one of the few players that can score from a half chance on a regular basis

Always thought that cisse was the better player. Senegal play him a lot more than ba aswel ! I think his header against Everton was massively under rated. He still had a lot of work too do too beat Howard and practically lobbed him with his head ! I'm really looking too seeing what he can produce this season I don't think he'll let us down !

Ba was no different to last season. Always been a shoot on sight striker. Can't really moan because we picked up loads of goals from spillages from goalkeepers and his accuracy was decent. Certainly the media focused in on this but the reality is it only came up when other parts of the team (like the back 5) stopped functioning. You could say he let him down if the rumours are true about him refusing to play left. Who knows, but it certainly worked well last season when Ba was left, Cisse central and Benni right. Saying that looking at how much Cisse's all round game has improved, his spell on the wing may help us over the longer term.
