How would you describe someone who said that United having mental strength is a myth, and in the same thread said that he could not understand how Arsenal were labled as chokers. I would describe him as a complete and utter f@ckwit. Your views.
Anyone who ever questions Uniteds mental strength or strength in general has got the mental capacity of a goldfish. United continue to prove the doubters wrong, and this is a habit that shows no signs of stopping in the near future. A couple of additions in the summer and it's game on for next season. Number 20?
I would ask him: a) Over the past six years, has the United squad been significantly better than the Arsenal one? b) Over the past six years, how many more trophies have United won than Arsenal? Then I would describe him as yet another bitter ABU Sorry Munster, obviously you haven't heard yet. Next year is Liverpool's year
Actually the poster of the bizarre thread in question is a well known (on 606) Liverpool cretin. The clown posted it before the Chelsea game on the Arsenal board, of all places.
Proud Scouse per chance? I think I saw that one. I love the way he put it on the Arsenal board as well to garner a little support. ABU tits like Proud want it all their own way. They want to say we're mediocre ability-wise and not mentally tough. God knows how we're top of the league, must be the refs
This is the article in question. ......................................... Whenever I look on 606 , I normally see an article about Arsenal choking the title away. This seems a little unfair to me, as Arsenal haven't won anything in 6 years so there shouldn't be too much expectation on them to win a major trophy. United on the otherhand always seem to get put into the 'mentally strong' category, which may not be entirely accurate. Let's not forget, United used to have Ronaldo (arguably the best player in 2008/09) and Tevez (another top player) who both had a massive impact on United winning things. Since both players fulfilled their dream of leaving United, the 'mentally strong' boys from Manchester have won nothing of note, bar a Reserves Cup. Last season saw United placed into a great position in both CL and PL, yet they failed to win either: * At home in the CL, 3 nil up, they managed to lose in comical fashion thanks to a mixture of poor defending and immature rashness, which saw Rafael get sent off in a humiliating Quarter Finals exit. * In the PL, with the title in their sights, they managed to lose at home to title rivals Chelsea in a match which saw them being outplayed in their own back yard in the biggest match of the season. In the big matches this season, United have lost to Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and local rivals City. Don't get me wrong, I know United are a decent team, but I don't see why they manage to hold onto to this 'mentally strong' tag when the key to their recent success was down to 40+ goal Ronaldo and the hard working Tevez. Maybe after the weekend's match against Chelsea, this myth will finally be laid to rest.
He also "forgot" to mention that none of the games we lost were really big games. With the exception of the City match, which was in our third choice competition and their priority, none of them had a bearing on our success or were against teams we considered to be challengers at the time. The Liverpool and Arsenal match were just standard games for us, like Arsenal's losses to West Brom and Spurs. And losing at home to Chelsea by one goal is hardly a massive choke is it? Particularly when they were around 10 points behind us at the time. I also love the fact he claims we are not mentally strong because we have won "nothing of note" since 2009. Oh no, one trophyless season, what a weak and feeble side we must be!
Even our trophyless season wasn't trophyless, we won the cup against Villa. Not our first choice trophy sure, but a major competition trophy all the same.
Lol, good point. I should have said one almost trophyless season. Of course there's very little pressure to win the Carling Cup, only a real bunch of chokers would throw that one away in the final...
I'd say he's probably never played football at any level if he doesn't appreciate how important the mental aspect of the game is.
