Ok mate, sorry I misunderstood (bloody twins screaming in excitement at seeing Micky Mouse on Ice tmrw not helping ). You and me are singing from the same hymn sheet mate. Again I can see these fans frustration , I just don't think it gets the players performing any better.
Have to agree with the reaction to the goal and on the pitch was the main thing I noticed more than anything and had to ask myself is this reaction of a player wanting out? Unless we are going to have more and better strikers I think he should stay and from recolection he does not get niggling injuries to often.
Can anyone explain to me where this 'unsettled' rumour has emerged from. Considering his very poor form this season Cisse has been given a lot of slack by both Hughes and Redknapp (admittedly we have been short of alternatives). I don't know what more he expects TBH.
I'd let him go. One celebration for a goal doesn't outweigh him previously looking upset, disinterested and almost pissed off when others have scored for us this season. We've got Campbell back, just buy another striker in Jan.
Seems everyone is missing the point. Cisse is a goalscorer not a target man. He has stuggled this year because he has been asked to play as lone stiker most the time and that isn’t a job he can do. When in the side alongside a fit Zamora or if we had kept Helguson and we wouldn’t have these moans about him. His goal against West Brom shows what he is about. Each squad needs four fit strikers so we need to keep hold of him. Because injuries and suspension happen.
Like the owners, manager and players themselves, fans will be critical of individuals who they think just ain't cutting it - and these so called pros have to accept that underperformances in front of thousands of fans won't exactly beget plaudits. But I've never, not even as a youngster, understood how fans could or can stand there and berate players up close and personal... who's that ever going to motivate ffs?! Daft ****ers.
If he can 'do an Adel' and learn to pull his finger out and play for the team I'd keep him as he is a decent finisher. There is a danger that if we sell him in the transfer window that we are left with Mackie and a returned DJ Campbell as our only options should Adel go to the African Cup and we are waiting on Zamora to get back to fitness. I know that technically Hoilett is meant to be a striker too but with AJ & Zamora out I think getting shot of a striker might be a mistake. We are still being linked to everyone from Bent to Anelka and I am sure Harry has his eye out for some extra strikers so expect to see new faces rather than getting shot of old ones. I heard someone say "bring back Barton" during the Liverpool match, not sure if it was meant in jest!
We miss dearly...... it's funny how you should mention him, thinking about it now, we're really struggling in the aerial department and that's why our corners are ****e, as we have nobody to cross it into, really.
I agree with this. He does appear to have a good total goals to games ratio, although less so more recently, but I wish he'd show more energy on the pitch. We can't afford anyone giving less than 100%, even if they score a few goals; we need MORE. I would understand IF we brought in replacements and Cisse left and, personally, based purely on recent performances, I wouldn't mourn his departure too much.
Let's not forget he's probably going through a difficult time in his life, considering he's just got divorced. Hopefully he will get his head straight soon!
i agree with all of this rodney. if we get good replacements then let him go if he wants to. but only if we get a good striker instead.
Perhaps 'Arry can start by shaving off that hair and encourage him to spend more time at the training ground and less at the hair salon and fashion boutique. Perhaps Cissé thought this "look" was expected of him when he came to a "boutique" club?
I would keep him if he can show some desire on the pitch - keep for now anyway - makes no sense selling him in January unless we bring two strikers in.
