We have a big enough squad
I would play a strong team

Cesar in goal if he is now 100% fit
I would play Onuha at CB so Arry can have a look plus Anton at CB !! and rest Clint and Nelson
Fabio at leftback with Traore as a left footed wide mid in front of him and let them switch as required
Put Adel right up the pitch - he is the best at beating a player in the league so let him do it on the edge of their area and let him shoot from there rather than scream it just wide front 40 yards out having already beaten two players
Also last night showed he can hold it up against the best

plus Faurlin and Granero together in the middle as I believe this should be our best option
Keep SWP on the pitch and tell him to enjoy it and score again
Dyer RB as we have generally rated him when he plays and he needs game time
plus anyone else except Cisse to fill the gaps so that he starts missing playing and gets keen again (as he is our best goal scorer when good)

and if we lose I wont care so long as they all stay fit!!

If anyone can tell me what our 'full strength' team actually is right now I will be impressed. Actually, 'Arry might appreciate some guidance also. Right now we are back, yet again, to the spine of the team being pretty much the guys that won us the Championship. Is this 'full strength'?

some excellent answers to the original OP
Agree that a draw would probably be the worst result for us and we should then play a weakened team for the replay

That’s a good shout Frome.

I wouldn't underestimate the effect that two wins on the bounce could have for the confidence of the team, so I’d like to see a strong team with two or three squad members dropped in to see if they can impress. Personally I'd give Cisse and Park a start, and bring DJ on for the second half. I’d consider Young for the bench.

Cisse's probably going so we won't want to injure him. Plus it would be better to give a player who might feature later in the season some minutes- i.e. DJ campbell

We just need to make this game as 'useful' as possible. I imagine harry will try lots of different things that he hasn't had the chance to implement during a matchday yet. The likes of Bothroyd will get a run out at some point- so he "can have a look" at them.
It would certainly be nice to win though, so you'd hope for a strong side

West Brom in the cup is exactly the kind of game Granero needs to show us he can motivate himself for. If he performs well on saturday, then it will bode well for the rest of the season.

Yes, full strength squad - our players need all the practice they can get, let's keep our current momentum going rather than rolling over fielding a weak team. Good opportunity for revenge after our recent defeat at WBA.

If we are to be relegated, let's at least do a Pompey, with a good FA Cup run. Other teams like Newcastle seem to handle the extra games, plus Thurs Europa League.

I'm not sure Newcastle have handled the extra games that well this season!

Good idea, plus Cissé starting - opportunity to give our veterans, Hill, Derry & Nelsen a rest with Mackie on the bench. Nedum Onuoha at CB, use Ephraim.

Yes we should and include Park, Dyer, Campbell and Diakite for a bit of game time. I've witnessed two wins this season, I want more.

Not that I gave it the rating, but this is a decent enough thread to earn the stars ain’t it Northy? It sure beats another saga about whether Swords and/or DT have gone too far this time etc… <doh>

Was wondering about the mindset of the 'rater', thought it a bit strange the day after we beat Chelsea, this & Barton burgled are the only threads on the board with 5 stars!
To tell the truth I think putting stars on a thread is a bit ****y! <laugh>
