Morning Troops, What a weird feeling, being back at weork, having had the last 3 weeks off.... Leeds are among five parties who have launched a bid for their own local television channel and are competing for a licence that will let the holder broadcast programmes in the Leeds area. The program would be called Leeds TV, and would run alongside LUTV. I was looking at LUTV over Christmas, and was curious as to what Wrnock cam was A decision on the successful bidder was originally expected from media regulator Ofcom by the end of 2012. But yesterday it was announced that it has yet to establish a date for the announcement of the Leeds licence winner. A spokeswoman for the regulator could only say it was hoped decisions on all 21 licences
being awarded nationwide would be made before the end of February. Should Unitedâs bid be successful, their channel would be called Leeds TV. The prognosis looks grim as far as Jerome Thomas at Leeds is concerned as Neil Warnock confirmed the player returned to West Bromwich early and other clubs are "sniffing around him". If you read Thomas' tweets, he says her was disaapointed not to play against Hull, and was really looking forward to the Bolton game. We have already lost one player already from West Brom, as Woods opted to join Leicester. Could another player slip our net? Warnock claimed that a permanent deal could be in the offing, but his admission that we aren't the only club interested is bound to set alarm bells ringing amongst fans who appear to be told that "patience" is the key word as the transfer-window reopens.
Birmingham have to SELL, SELL, SELL this transfer window or they WILL go into administration. Clark said it was ‘common knowledge’ Blues’ transfer window plight and that players would be lost. Who can we pillage?
Morning Elland, morning those joining. Can we have Zigic please? At 6ft plenty & recalling that he made a right mess of us last season, getting him for a few quid would be a real boost.
Morning guys. Any more jobs going Elland where I could get three weeks off at xmas. Not sure I'd want them though, hard filling in time in mid winter. Hope Warnock saying patience is needed doesnt mean waiting till everyone else has completed proper transfers and we have to wait and see what **** is left. I see liverpool is being managed like us un the Risdale era. Theyre going to pay Cole 4million of his wages to go play for west ham. Great way to run a club eh
Zigic is on £50k a week so thats out of our league Brum would gladly give him away to get him off their books
Chris Burke, without a shadow of a doubt. Curtis Davies is excellent but almost certainly premiership-bound. I'd take David Murphy, he seems a pretty adept LB. Oh and I've always liked Keith Fahey...creative and versatile, which would be a massive bonus in this league! Bet they're all on £30,000p/w + though...
Probably not quite as much as you may think Jason. Would be a big incentive to have wingers getting to the byeline & crossing, knowing that Zigic would probably win the headers. These would either need saving, or might fall to Becchio or Ross to knock in.
Happy New Year. Following a tradition established with the last owner (aka saviour) I have sent GFH a pen as a New Years present. Hopefully they will now sign someone up. Preferably not an aged midfield player without any ball playing skills.
Even if we did play hoofball to Zigic, it'd be a damn sight more effective than lumping it long to Becchio...Zigic doesn't even have to jump to win a header
If he was dissapointed not to play us, he must have been fit and Warnock chose to rest him against his wishes. Should he get other offers from teams in this league could this affect his decision? Maybe, especially as it doesn't appear you're getting promoted anytime soon* *not a dig just an opinion!*
I don't think we'll get promoted this year unless we bring in seriously high quality players in next few weeks, but we are only 2 points off the play offs, despite playing like utter **** more often than not this year. And as I'm sure you guys can vouch for, if you end up in the play offs it's anyone's game
Dont want promotion yet if were not ready for it. Certainly dont want to be a yoyo club if or when we go up. If it takes another year or two to establish a premier quality squad, or the nucleus of one, we can all live with that
Promotion is a must, even if its up then down. Yo-yo is okay if you keep improving your squad. At least there is serious money coming in. Rather a £60m promotion followed by a £10m relegation than constant struggling to pay wages to average players.
He wasn't fit. He went down with the virus that's affected a number of the team & was returned to the Baggies early.
Agree with you Billy. If you keep waiting, your chance might never come! (Btw, parachutes are now 3 years of £14m each, I believe. Lucrative!).
