He won't go in January. Why would the board risk a southward slide in what is such an important season - not a chance - particularly given our form while he has been out of the team...what value do you put on survival? Not saying others couldn't go - but ruddy is surely too important in a too important season.
True - apart from his ability, he inspires confidence not only in defence but throughout the team. His sheer presence cannot be undervalued and even if a silly offer came in I doubt if the Board would sell. Arsenal would be better off making a bid for Butland as it is odds on the Brummies do need to sell whereas we do not.
would hopper leave celtic, given they are still in the champions league? we will find out. likely they would be knocked out anyhow, from memory they had Juve?
This isn't a dig at Bunn, it's more of a praise for Ruddy. But I don't think it's a coincidence that the clean sheets having been coming in like they were before Ruddy for injured.
i think that's fair. ruddy is a superb goalkeeper and nigh on impossible to replace. however, some of the criticism of bunn has been outrageously over the top. funny really, as during the summer people were moaning that we didn't need to waste our money on a 2nd choice keeper and now they are demanding we spend more money on a 2nd choice keeper
I don't think he is a bad goalkeeper to be fair. I think the problem is, fans expect him to come out more for crosses and command the box, but they forget he is 6 foot and a lot of strikers are actually taller than him, for example Michu. Good shot stopper though and I think Dave Watson will continue to improve his game.
fact is, any player who plays for norwich city is going to have certain limitations within his game - if they didn't and were faultless, they wouldn't be at the club - they'd be playing for a massive club. sometimes our fans are very realistic as a group - the clubs financial situation for instance proves that as a whole, our fans understand the limitations and structure and why we don't and won't pay massive wages etc. but why do some find it so hard to see the same limitations in players? what mark bunn is is a very decent shot stopper who for £750k i think is a real bargain. he's worth a lot more than that in my opinion. he's not as good as ruddy - of course he isn't - but he's a perfectly decent number two who would normally only be expecting to play maybe a handful of games a season but has been thrust into the spotlight cos of injuries. our goalkeeper situation is extremely healthy - we have four keepers - three of which are decent, two of which are extremely promising and one who is one of the best in europe right now. what more do people want?
Bunn is a decent shot stopper but then again shots like Dzeko's 3rd should be saved. He also hesitated in the lead up to Aguero's goal (great finish though). I am not certain but I also think that Ruddy might have done better with Mata's goal the other week. Again it was a great finish but Ruddy is bigger and has better reactions so might have been able to stretch that bit further? I dont see why Rudd wasnt given a chance (instead of buying Bunn) seeing as he hasnt been able to get a loan. He has been given small chances before and never put a foot wrong! In terms of players in this Jan, Id love to see Mulenga AND Toure brought in with Martin, Morison, Lappin, Surman etc being sold on. A pipe dream maybe but id also love the Biglia rumor to be true! Push the boat out a bit, we are high enough and have enough points to be looking up rather than down!
He's in a film which keeps coming on the Horror Channel where I think he's the last man on post nuclear holocaust Earth or something and all these young women keep trying to have it off with him. Classic B movie nonsense
My major concerns are how he parries the ball back into the box there is usually someone waiting there for it, positioning his had a couple of shockers hanging about on the line and not closing down the shooting angle or rushing out to players with nowhere for them to go, this could be more of communication issue more then anything. Watson will change Bunn's game not saying his a terrible goalkeeper but I do expect someone with his experience not to make some of errors that have been happening, the goalkeeper isn't always at fault and some goals are unpreventable, but I have faith that our coaching staff we make him into the type of player we want to see. Also it could be a confidence thing I remember during Ruddy's first season for us there was quite a few of our supporters who used to blame him for a lot of our mistakes complaining that he doesn't command the box and looks worried dealing with crosses 'His no Fraser Forester' etc, look at him now his an absolute beast!
Just seen on twitter yet again, that Hughton may have been looking at Kayal. Maybe looking for someone to keep hold of the ball better in the midfield ie improving on Johnson. Haven't really seen a lot of Kayal really , so I don't know if this is an improvement or not.
if it is kayal, that would be a great signing. seriously underrated midfielder. can't see us being able to prise him away from parkhead though, let alone afford him. only downside is he has had a lot of injuries oh, and while we're up there, maybe we should put in a cheeky bid for wanyama too
