We can't go through this night without an Adel thread :)

What a performance tonight. His hold up play against Cahill, Ivanovic and Luiz was sublime and something I've never seen in him before. His strength is very underrated, for a player in his position this is very rare. The amount of balls he controlled on his chest with strong opponents in the back was a pleasure to watch (don't go making wierd pictures in your heads now ;)) The commentators wasn't in doubt when he walked off, MOM.
Great assist, ballcontroll of the highest order. Workrate second to none, running more and working harder than Mackie for crying out loud! <yikes>

There was so many big performances out there tonight for us. I'd like to single out Fabio, Granero, Nelsen, Onouha and Derry.

But the Man Of The Match goes to Adel Taarabt, simply irresistible.

I was very surprised he was used in a hold up role bringing other players into it but he did very well and its the hardest Ive ever seen him work.

He was really great today, especially when you take in consideration he was playing as a lone striker. In the first half I doubted him but great great today.

Just back from the Bridge - top night!!! Disagree with Adel being MOM. He had a great game but Cesar had a better game - he made at least 3 world class saves tonight. the one in the first half with his feet was unreal and the double save in the second half. Big credit to Hill tonight. First time he has started as Captain - he shouted through the whole game - I saw him tell SWP off when he and FAbuo were arguing in the first half - marshalled the team well.

The arrogance of the scum to drop so many players. SCUM!! Top night out!

I think Harry has sussed that if he sets Adel a challenge he will rise to it, more of that man-management that is making the difference. Well done Adel...

I had a bad feeling before this game that Taarabt was going to be invisible, shows what little I know
    Glad I was completely wrong

Fair enough mate, you boys did us proud out there tonight, sang your hearts out. Clint was very good as well, just didn't think he was as composed as Nelsen. He started as captain against Liverpool as well, retaining the armband even when Nelsen came back after missing the WBA game. Cesar only had two saves to make (credit to the lads in front of him). The deflected shot that he saved with his feet was awesome, one of his specialities. The one on one against Torres came after the ball broke through after a deflected shot from outside the box. Two shots on target, two great saves. What more can one ask? He impressed me with his command of the area tonight, much improved.

Very good performance from Adel tonight. Thought Cesar was great too; inspires confidence with that sort of display. I know he's expensive, but we need him this season. However, tonight was one of those few times we can say that we played as a team.

Well, good on him ...................... but we need his continued effort each week, only then will he be view as a world class player.
Have not seen the game but on what you guys are saying, well played team. I just hope that now he's had a good game, he keeps his month shut and backs it up next week.
    Well played Adel.

I also liked the way that he celebrated the goal - looked like it really meant something to him

I was so certain that Mata and Ramires would open us up when they can on, but so impressed with the lads for standing firm

Sideshow Bob must've had more shots than anyone else but I can't remember him having a single effort on target

Joint MOTM must've been us as fans - barely heard the Chelsea fans all night

Just seen the game, adel was tremendous. He cut out the showboating bullshit by 50% and became a good prem player.

He still showed the tricks but when it was lost it wasnt so bad as he did so much other good for the team. Instead of the usual step over crap he passed & moved and created mayhem in certain places.

THIS is the Adel i want to see every week. Not the idiot who thought he could do it all, but the matured player who has the confidence to drive forward and create but also knows when to pass.
i would give Ceasar MOM but AT showed what he can do..if he can just get that consistency thing going?!!
Very impressed by him & his alround game tonight and truely hope he keeps it up. next few weeks will tell us if he is what we want him to be.

Very happy to eat that pie if he does....!

Was in the air during the game. When I landed my telephone was going bonkers with sms about the great result. Happy New Year Chelsea!! Saw highlights of my recording when I got home - and I'd also really like to single out SWP! Great goal, some great support and link play and as always he was alll over the park.

Fans sounded absolutely great - hardly heard chelsea- and the pictures of our celebrations after the game were fantastic. Looked like a lot were there. Great pictures as well of Cisse celebrating the goal - no doubt where his heart is now.
