  1. Craig Burley purely because he is a grade A complete and utter bellend. Even annoys the hell out of me when he crticises Man Utd, he just talks out his rectum ALL the time!<ok>

Ray Wilkins is pretty poor too. Sits there like a nodding dog and adds nothing to the conversation!

Garth crooks Is a nob but I went for Redknapp he disagrees with any decision against LFC even If replays show he's clearly wrong he just looks sheepish and sticks to his guns...
There are other pundits that obviously show their support to their old teams but still are fair In their punditry like Le Tiss,Merson and Nicholas (They do mess about more a bit more of the lads type punditry but fair all the same IMO)to name a few..

IMO being too bias ruins their ability to be a decent pundit Phil Thompson for example no doubt he knows his stuff but he Is so pro Liverpool I think he should be on the dole as a pundit..

Gary Neville Is very good to be fair when he looks at Man U games he doesnt feel the need to lick up like the LFC's ex players love in..

and you think he is worse than Merson who tries to take the moral high ground with how players should behave and is a serial drink driver? ffs!

only thing that does my head in about Thompson is he SHOUTS every time the slightest thing happens in the game he is watching and likes the attention, but doesn't make him a bad pundit, and he is no more ruddy bias towards Liverpool than the others are towards their clubs.

Don't think Thompson is that bad, gets awfully defensive over Liverpool though.

Merson taking the moral high ground on how people should behave and being a serial drink driver has got nothing to do with his ability as a pundit I have never seen him pissed In the studio you'd swear that dick Thommo Is half the shoite he comes out with? er...ffs?

you genuinely think that Thommo Is only as bias toward LFC than others are to their old clubs? Jesus this could get ugly lol...

    wtf!

of course it has everything to do with it, how can he take the moral high ground on how players should behave when he is no role model himself who is a serial offender at drink driving!!

guessing your not old enough to shave or wipe your own ass! and your comments towards Thompson shows the level of intellect i am dealing with or you really are a bitter, so i will leave it at that!

drink driving is one of the worst crimes that is not punishable by the act committed ie can take an innocent life and all you lose is your ruddy license, esp old people!! So he has no fecking right to tell us how footballers should behave!

Didn't think Merson was done more than once for drink driving...He's pretty funny (unintentially) so I can watch him...bit like Le Tissier.

Can not stand Thompson...bloke is so up his own arse and so boring. Garth Crookes was a great player who did the simple things so well...but that goes out the window when ever he opens his mouth...he always uses 10 words when 1 will do.
But the worst is shearer...how that bloke is on TV is a complete mystery to me

I was going to ask why is there no option for 'all of the above'? :emoticon-0112-wonde

I don't get why so many of the pundits, in fact possibly all of them at the moment, have to be ex-players. OK on one level they can provide 'professional insight' from an insider's perspective, but a few of them seem just wrapped up in themselves or come across as inarticulate and only capable of studio 'banter'. The problem with guys like Lawro is they are just getting further out of touch with the way the game is going.

I'd like to see a better mix, where on a panel of three the channels start to pick from an ex-pro, a manager or other member of backroom staff, a current or former official (linesman/ref), an experienced sports writer or other figure in the sports media, for instance. This would allow more reasoned and considered debate, and dare I say it, a bit of intelligence for once.

    good shout,

i think esp with Sky, aren't most of them strikers, so they have a completely dif opinion to Thompson who was a defender.

think add ex keeper to that as well, as they do bring up a lot of fouls that happen on keepers, not sure what would be gained by having ex linesman, but def ex refs.

    better mix def needed <ok>

Good idea on a keeper for once, players in different positions on the pitch probably have a completely different experience of/response to the same game.

Yeah a linesman probably wouldn't add much other than tips for how to run like a boss side-on. I was just trying to think as wide a range as possible. Be interesting to hear other suggestions too! I think MOTD2 sometimes, very rarely, will have a manager on.
