Buy them a couple of Arsenal shirts & deny all knowledge that you ever attended a football match or even understand the game. Instead state that you follow rugby or badminton or something! Enjoy the smiles on thier faces !
Agreed. Take them to Loftus Road and let them make up their own minds.........oh wait.....on second thoughts.......
Season ain't over yet, mate! Give it to the end of this season and see. Then let them decide to whoever they want, as long as it's not the Scums next door
You've actually come up with a great point there congleton. The goalposts on this subject have moved on this one since I was a kid. I'm going to have to take a rain cheque while I try to fathom this one out. I'll come back to ya.
keep the tradtion up, they will be the school jokers, have lots of friends, abd be the only rangers fans in your neck of the woods
We are only two hours down the M4 from you! Your boys could do a lot worse that support little old Swansea, got some style to our game too, and we do get some great results against the big boys of London and Manchester, and are sitting in a respectable 8th position in the table, with a great set of fans, shiny new stadium, and a legend of a manager in Laudrup!.................... PS: Forgot we got one of the top goal scorers too, in Michu!.......
you bring one up to support QPR and give him a bat for his birthday, the other can support the scum please log in to view this image
All good points Dragon, but there is one, glaring problem....You are in Wales and you are a welsh, gypsy ****!
Get them down to LR. You know deep down that there is nothing quite like being an Rs fan. I LOVE IT!!!!!
They should definitely be inducted into the R's family tradition. I have three boys, two of them born in Watford, and the youngest born in Norwich. The eldest and youngest [after flirting with Man U for a couple of years] are both dedicated R's, while the middle one remains a Watford fan. It hasn't done them any harm, and I firmly believe believe that being an R's fan prepares you for the harsh realities of life! And finally, as Meatloaf so eloquently put it "two out of three ain't bad"!
Let them choose, but only ever take them the Rs games. Worked with my lad, who 'grew out of' Arsenal aged 11. This father and son stuff is all true, but its much better when we're winning.
Cheers for your input Guys and thanks for sticking with a thread that looked like it was over before it had begun My intention is to keep taking them to watch the R's when they're old enough (as with the benefit of hindsight 8 weeks was probably a wee bit young!) They will, like I, mostly be away supporters as I mainly get to the north west games (stoke, wigan and the obligatory boxing day to LR so far this season) but this will get them around a few grounds and let them soak up that away day atmosphere which can only be a good thing. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink as the saying goes and while i would dearly love them to become ardent Rangers boys my heart of hearts says that QPR may become for them "the team my Dad supports" and the one they look out for on Final Score after where their true allegiance lies. We all have a second team (Macclesfield Town for me) and while i dream of them standing shoulder to shoulder with me on football support my expectation is that QPR will only ever be a second team for them and i guess i should be happy with that. I wish to add a footnote than in the unlikely event of us staying up and solidifying our PL staus in the following years that all the above will be null and void because if i can offer them a PL team to support, they are bloody well supporting them!!
