Whilst I feel our loss was deserved due to our lack of fight in the first half, Mr Clattenburg was a mess today. The second goal when Tettey was wiped out in front of him was an absolute refereeing cock up. The rules of the game sometimes baffle me. A penalty given for what was not a goal scoring opportunity bothers me a tad. Anyway, second half was a better show, but the Hammers had our number from the off - more bite, more oomph and a bit more like we usually are. I'll take the loss on the chin, but will restate that Clattenburg has definitely been blowing bubbles.
Clattenburg should not be refereeing at this level his incompetent and absolutely useless at his job and an arrogant ****er to boot. Send him back to Blue Square or whatever stone he crawled underneath from.
I think the only reason we didn't get the penalty for the foul on kane is that he would have had to send the guy off as it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. He bottled it I think and that changed the momentum a chance to make it 2-1 on 50 minutes and 40 minutes to have a go would have made it a much better game.
Why? Shirt pulling is a foul. There is no obligation to stop playing just because an opposing player is injured.
1st Goal -> Soft pen but shirt pulling is an offence 2nd Goal -> It wasn't a head injury so we didn't have to stop. You can blame the ref but don't forget "hoofball wet spam" played you off the park for the 1st 75 mins.
Fair enough you don't stop play if it's not a head injury, but he should have stopped play to award the free kick to Norwich for the foul that injured him in the first place!
Penalty shouldn't of happened and if it wasn't a head injury why was Tettey holding his head? He doesn't make a meal of challenges it was accidental challenge though. We'll have to watch the highlights later but lets face it you're wasting your time I'm not going to agree with a West Ham fan in a million years neither do I expect the same in return. All I know is that utter waste of space Clattenburg should be refereeing the Durham pub league not the Premiership.
So why did you kick the ball out of play when your man went down with a leg injury and then expect us to throw the ball back to you? And would you not agree that if Calamityburg did not award a free against Bassong, then Reid handled the ball? And if Kane was not fouled, then why wasn't he booked for diving? As poorly as we played today, and without sour grapes we played better against better teams, if it had not been forbad decisions by the referee, you might have lost to us.
I agree/disagree if I think a point is valid or not, team supported doesn't come into it and shouldn't. Whatever I'll say you'll disagree with because I'm a West Ham fan?
I didn't understand that one, either he should have given a free kick or he should have given the penalty. Kane didn't dive, he barged into the defender, as we had the ball there was no point in stopping play and it wasn't serious enough for a booking
Seriously? If Norwich kicked the ball out of play when a player is down, wouldn't you expect it to be given back to you?
No not because you are a West Ham fan, because the fact Clattenburg had an absolute mare you lot can perceive that as us being bitter we're totally not we didn't like the decisions he made, you controlled the game for about 60 minutes there is absolutely no doubting that, the choices made by the officials though ruined the game for us. Before anyone gives us the we always get treated harshly by the referee routine we got screwed over countless times last season by them.
Unfortunately, Clattenburg is the type of person that will think "Norwich are going to expect me to give them a penalty for the slightest offence after I gave a very soft one to West Ham - I'll show the ****ers". Hughton would of questioned his decisions when he saw him at half time, and that would of only made it worse as Clattenburg couldn't possibly have any of his decisions questioned! However, we were awful today (Pilkington especially) and didn't deserve anything from the game.
The sad fact about all of this is that by awarding a very soft penalty, missing a handball in the area, failing to award a penalty for the foul on Kane and and failing to award a free kick when Tettey was wiped out in the build up to the second goal actually constituted a good game for Clattenburg.
