Great thread this. L or R is good do it kemp ton. Anti clockwise for me, I'm a golly hander. Socks? Don't wear em, only trainer socks. But left first always, always, always Jesus do you want one of my family to die or summat!!
You say that, but there is actually a left and a right sock in a pair. I didn't notice it so much when I was younger, but having size 10 or 11 (depending on brand) feet I'm now at the top end of the size range for socks so there isn't much leeway. If I get them the wrong way round I can tell straight away because it's tight on my big toe but sticking off the end on my little toe side. I don't know off hand which side I try to put on first though, and surprisingly it's not often I get them the wrong way round to start with so i maybe judge it quite well based on the shape of the sock. As for drink stirring, I definitely think there's something in the left hand vs right hand thing. I tend to just have water or cans of something at home so I only ever have to stir a drink when I'm somewhere else and making them for at least two of us. That means I end up using both hands, the left hand goes anti-clockwise and the right hand clockwise.
Clockwise. Was born left-handed but my school teacher mum forced me to change as a young girl, insisting I wrote right-handed.
I'm right handed and now I think about it I start anticlockwise and then clockwise - I don't know why I do that but I do..
Another side question: Do people switch directions when they stir in a different hemisphere from normal?
Are you sure ? I also have size 11 - 12 but have never noticed a right and left sock (only possibly they have logos on bnot in the shape of the sock) I always stir clockwise and then three taps on the top of the mug (im right handed)
Yeah, unless by pure coincidence with every pair of socks I've got I've worn the same one on the same foot enough to stretch them to shape so that now there is a left and a right.
Not really, if it were my feet and the socks were identical then swapping them over wouldn't solve the problem. I do have freaky ankles though.
I have no idea. I generally buy cheaper socks though, so if the people that don't find the difference tend to buy more expensive ones we might be on to the reasons. (I would have expected if there was going to be shaping that the expensive ones would be the shaped ones though)
