Surprised Tunny's goal against Manure isn't on the shortlist.

RICARDO Fuller is in the running to scoop Stoke City's 'Goal of the Season' award for a fourth successive year . . . but he faces strong competition from a number of other excellent contenders for this season's accolade.

The Jamaican international striker completed a hat-trick when he was a runaway winner of the award 12 months ago with his magnificent solo effort in the Barclays Premier League victory over West Ham at Upton Park.

This time, Fuller will be hoping that another outstanding individual effort in the win over Birmingham City can come out on top as supporters get the chance to vote for their favourite goal of the 2010-11 season this week.

Joint leading scorers Jon Walters and Kenwyne Jones are in the running along with Matthew Etherington and Danny Higginbotham.

Walters has two contenders, his stunning solo effort against Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium and the first of his two goals in the wonderful FA Cup semi-final triumph over Bolton Wanderers at Wembley Stadium last month.

Two goals from the recent Barclays Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur feature on that shortlist when Etherington and Jones were on the scoresheet, while Higginbotham's free kick against Newcastle is the other nomination.

A Ricardo Fuller vs Birmingham City (h) November 9th

B Danny Higginbotham vs Newcastle United (h) March 19th

C Jon Walters vs Chelsea (h) April 2nd

D Matthew Etherington vs Tottenham Hotspur (a) April 9th

E Kenwyne Jones vs Tottenham Hotspur (a) April 9th

F Jon Walters vs Bolton Wanderers (Wembley) April 17th

To cast your vote, send an email to [email protected] The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 12th May.

The 'Goal of the Season' winner will be presented with his award at the End of Season Awards Dinner at the King's Hall on Monday 23rd May.
