http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...x-Song-voted-worst-signings-season-Spain.html Apologies for using that rag of a paper as a source.
They'd make a bloody effective midfield pairing if they were coached correctly, as it happens. We'll give them £20.50 for the pair and we'll throw in Jenas and Bentley. On loan.
Hardly surprising as the two clubs' fans will use their vote to have a dig at the other. Neither player has had much time to prove their worth yet. And both might be seen as squad players at this stage.
I could never see either breaking into the first XI of their respective teams but still rate both as quality players, especially Modric. I wonder if he will come back to England in the summer, his value must have nearly halved since Spurs sold him.
Like most Spurs fans, I lost my respect for Rat boy over his toy chucking behaviour prior to his exit. However, for half price, I suppose a form of slow forgiveness could be countenanced
Oh well, they can cheer themselves up when there bank statement comes in the post, hang on, thats not why they went!
Dembele could certainly use a backup. I never figured out why Real wanted him. Not that I don't think he's a good player, I just don't see him fitting as the lynch pin of their system. I have trouble picturing them with anything other than a classic playmaker like Xavi Alonso (Or a Xavi, or Pirlo type). I saw them play him in their front three, which confirmed my doubts about their use of him. Everyone knows he's a non-scorer and non-assister who blazes in about two scorchers a year. Surely he should play in the middle three.
If they would like to let us have Ozil instead, I for one, would gladly accept. Of the two, I'd rather have Ozil anyway.
This article made my day! Of course it's a bit sad that such a talent is not fulfilling it's potential but after the way he left the club Modric can have his cake and eat it as far as I'm concerned.
Less football more money, that was his decision. Why would you want him back now. It would only fk about with the team, he made his bed and he can lie in it, mind you the mattress has more filling now
