So you believe both this bullcrap £20m rubbish, and selected 'facts' about Fernandes? I have a wonderful timeshare offer in Rhyl for you. You can write your tax liability off against it.
Of course I don't believe we are going to spend money like that in january, I made that point up thread. As for Fernandes you are the accountant, SB. Can't you see it it doesn't add up, just political patronage got him where he is just as towel folding in Selfridges placed Osborne in charge of our economy.
I think we should be concentrating on getting rid of players not getting new ones in. We should be planning for the championship, but that I mean planning that we're not going to be ****ed come next season.
No idea if this is true... Would imagine not, but all the talk about administration if we go down is pure, mischievous speculation. NONE OF YOU (or me) have any idea what state the club's finances are in - we may well go down and be perfectly able to suck up the wages - or we might not, but the nonsense talked by armchair supposed ITKs is wasteful hot air until someone has concrete evidence that we have a financial hole that can't be filled. I'm all for speculation but this all smacks of needless panic mongering. Face it... We don't even know the very basics about exactly who owns what, how much they are worth, and how much the partners are prepared to bankroll the project. Silly to assume that they would pull the plug and lose the lions share of their investment when they are only a season and a half in to what was always predicted to be a much longer project (training facilities, stadium, youth policy etc.) It's bad enough having to see the results without the 'doom mongers' rubbing their hands together and stating conjecture as fact. Happy New Year by the way... Me? I'm hoping for better things!
I'm not an accountant Imaz (not that there is anything wrong with that), but I can read a balance sheet and have looked at what is published about Air Asia's finances. They have a lot of debt, but less than the airline industry average. They are the fastest growing airline in the world in terms of profit. The business model is a shameless copy of the successful US and European cut price airlines, and Fernandes' business approach as a whole is a rip off of his mate and ex boss Branson. I know as well as you do how business operates in the Far East (and much of the rest of the world) and would never imagine TF is squeaky clean, but you know that much of the negative stuff published about him is bumiputra prejudice.
Don't think these players are the answer anyway. Given the number of midfielders we have signed I assumed our midfield would be the least of our worries but unfortunately the likes of Mbia, Diakite, Faurlin, Park and Granero just do not have what it takes to command the centre of the park. Would like to see Parker and/or Lampard to come in. Harry wants players he can trust he has said this explicitly, so I would think another raft of (untested) foreign players wont be the answer, you only need to look at how long its taking Diakite and Mbia to find their feet to see that.
Agree with CB on this. However off the pitch/QPR things are going well for TF with the airline and other deals and in the next 5 years he is going to be worth a fortune so don't be surprised if he does splash some cash. Premiership football is good for his business and he will try what he can to keep us up.
I understand people's reservations, but I feel the owners are in a bit of a quandary. They have invested heavily and know that there are huge rewards in terms of increased TV money to all clubs who retain their top flight status. I get the impression that they feel like a gambler in the casino hoping that one more punt may be the answer and lead to salvation. Who knows..........maybe it would, but then again...................
I hope they stick with whatever business plan they put in place in the summer, which has to include a contingency plan for relegation. New players in have to be financed by players out. My Dad was a successful gambler (poker mainly). He told me the knack - prepare properly, understand all the odds, don't trust intuition and know when to stop. I don't have the patience for this and on the rare occasions I go to the race track or casino I take exactly the amount of cash I am prepared to lose and still have fun. I hope Tony is more like my Dad, but we are definitely in gambling territory now.
Col, by nature I'm an eternal optimist but we have only won one game all season and can't win an away game to save our lives. I heard the other day that Cesar is on a hundred grand a week. Bosingwa is on sixty five and he's only a RB FFS. God only knows what we are paying M'Bia, Granero, Diakite etc etc. When you sit down and analyse our remaining fixtures it jumps out how fuc**d we are. For a club the size of ours we have played a very dangerous game. We took a gamble and backed the wrong horse. Throwing more stupid money at more mercenaries will only compound the error. Lets face the facts. Get rid if these pr**ks ASAP and reduce this ludicrous wage bill. All is not doom and gloom however. We have a couple of young players that we need to keep and build for the future; Hoilett, Adel, Onouha, Traore, Ephram. Add Mackie, AJ, Diakite and Green to that and we have a great foundation for next year. I really don't want to see anybody over 30 come in unless its on a six month loan.
If the rumours are true with 20m, then that could cast curtains for QPR, i mean can you really see Arry keeping them up?. The players they have already got in are on a good screw, adding more players will add to more pointless expence. Could well see yet another Pompey..
Errrrr.....................well the issues would be the wages you see. You have many overpaid, under-performing players that are reaching the end of their careers on incredibly high wages. See Bosingswa and Zamora etc............. These players may find themselves in the Championship next season and if they lack the fight to want to stay in the prem then do you really think that they will have enough spit and sawdust to get through the Championship? You have given players that are at the end of the careers stupidly long contracts and stupidly high wages. No club is going to offer your failures better deals than what they are already on at your place and a length of contract that you did, as they would need to see a brain doctor if they wanted to. Also, can you see Harry managing a Championship club? Nope. He was offered the Ipswich job a while back and turned it down. Harry will spunk the 20m and you may still go down (see Southampton and Portsmouth). It's scary as you will have players at 31, 32, 33 etc on 135k a week that have 2-4 years contracts. I feel for you guys as Mr F has really ****ed your club up and the latest talk of spedning yet more cash is worrying. It is not the initial outlay that will bust you, it is the wages that will.
It was Hughes who ****ed the club, Harry might stay or he might go, its different going to an NPC team than sticking with a club who go down. Youll see that with managers and players. You dont have to tell me about long contracts and old players, its a running joke on here as I was going nuts as we signed them saying they were here for one last pay day. At least the above players have sell on value.
Did you just make up 135k a week or did you read that somewhere ?? Or am I reading it incorrectly and you say we are GOING to offer somebody 135k a week....and if so who ?? Again just curious if you read that somewhere and I missed it
