OK so let me firstly say that when we get a replay of a match, we don’t get the different view options usually given when we watch live.
I thought I’d post this as it appears to me a lot of views are different on certain players. I did post a while ago that, i believe if you attend a match or even watch live you run the risk of letting emotions, poor views & even alcohol taint any report that may be posted. This is not to say that i don’t enjoy reading Judo, Col’s etc reports, but may explain why their are such extremely opposite views of the same game..(nothing to do with looking at trees!)
I think that once you know the score and have read varying reports, its possible to watch the game and give a balanced impartial view not afforded to those that attend (or even watch live). For the record, this is not me saying my view is any more valid or better than anyone else’s. Just a view based on what i saw & picking up on comments previously posted with no emotion involved.
    So firstly,
Lets give credit where its due eh? Saurez is a goal machine FACT. CH and RN tried to be physical and all he did was stuff it back down their throats.
1st goal, isolated himself with a big slow defender then skinned him. I think RN should have been closer to CH but he was covering Onuha (different subject)
2nd goal after initial pass, continued his run & after cross continued and got his just reward for his hard work. We say Mackie works hard but this guy has the skill to back it up . different class.
Steve Gerrard: never seen a better DCM in many years. Why this guy is not at Barca or Real I will never know. Played directly opposite M’Bia in 1st half and taught him how CM should be played. He didn’t run all game and only time he did was when he missed that header. Should have scored! Spent 90 mins pulling the strings for others to play. SHEER.CLASS.COM
    QPR Hot topics:
Onuha; how anyone gave him MOM i will never know. Caught wrong side 3 times in first 13 minutes and I’d say he had a big part in the 1st goal too. Was continually out of position.
Granero: not sure WTF that free kick stuff was about but wasted it anyway. Started badly and continued that through rest of game. Head is not there!
Ceasar: posters saying we should get rid of him...no chance, kept the score down.
Mackie: so much effort that sometimes makes him look stupid running around whilst all the others stroll. Wish they all tried as hard but sadly seems just not quite good enough...yet!
SWP: played well for the first 4 minutes 44 seconds then reverted to usual crap
Clint Hill: Love this guy but got found out against a top draw striker. Pulled all over the place. He obviously tries but against Saurez was totally out-classed.
Nelson: Had a good game IMHO. Didn’t do much wrong. Great save on the line.
Tarb: started well and cant fault his effort before the third goal. Seemed to give up after that (cant blame him) and appeared in fits and spurts. Did create some good stuff but still infuriates with the lack of the simple ball. STILL needs to learn he cannot do it all himself- he’s just not good enough too. He needs to bring more of team in to play more often. No doubt he can improve if only he would look up more often.

As said previously. We were beaten by a better side. Every one of the oppo players was better than their opposite number. Even when the likes of Tarbs, M’Bai and others pressed forward the scousers just soaked it up !!and we never really looked like scoring. I cant figure out why when we attack we cannot seem to get more than 1 player in the box?
Anyway, that was my view. Don’t expect everyone to agree but can only comment on what I saw.
    Thoughts?

A fair assessment Queens, we were unfortunate to run into them giving one of their best performances of the season whilst we gave our worst...

That could be true mate but they were just better than us all over the park. True quality showed through.

They were better than us only because we gave them the space to play. Time after time we were yards off the player receiving the ball. I watched the Stoke game and they were on Liverpool's players all the time. We were much slower to the ball, and when we received a pass we had our back to goal so had to turn which gave them time to defend. Liverpool on the other hand passed into space for their player to run on to. I was in the upper Loft so fortunately couldn't see their goals go in. I hate Suarez but watching him create space for himself against a totally static Cisse was a real eye opener. Disappointed but not lost belief yet.

I agree with that too. I don't know why we've lost the habit of closing down, harassing and generally getting in their face when we don't have the ball. Hughes is only partly to blame for that as we did last season (Arsenal at home for example)

Differing views from people at the same game actually have everything to do with where they're sitting. If you're sitting behind the goal, there's no way you can see what is going on in the middle of the park as well as someone who sits where I do. By the same token, I can't see what is going on in the box from corners etc anywhere near as well as someone sat behind the goal..........etc, etc, etc.
Onouha was our best defender imo and it was his superb header that stopped Gerrard scoring. Hill was at fault for all three goals. The first was down to him simply not being fast enough and being isolated by a world class striker. You fail to mention that, for the 2nd goal, Hill firstly lost a header to Suarez and then ran away from him instead of staying with him. This gave Suarez acres of room to drive into the box. Hill lost Agger for the third.
I thought Granero did quite well after that initial comedy free kick.

    All opinions though eh?

All opinions, Col, but worryingly yet again we agree.....I thought I would be totally isolated in saying Granero, though hardly earth shattering, was neat and tidy and tried to get things moving forward. For you, obviously not a fan, to see something in him is very reassuring. Onuoha looked much more comfortable playing more centrally in the second half. How many times have we played him there, his natural position.

But overall, a bit of a shambles, though I was very impressed with Liverpool. Said the the blokes near us at the start that we needed to play just like we did against Swansea at home last season - let them play around at the back, but right in their faces as soon as they try to cross half way. You know what you are going to get with Rodgers.

Even the Western Avenue let me down - inward delays so slight that we arrived 90 minutes before kick off. Not doing the cup game as I have a heavy January of travel, and I don't want to see us turn on the style and win easily in a game which is frankly a side show. Be there for Spurs, who are looking rather tidy at the moment.

Even more pissed off now, as I went in via the A4 and Goldhawk rd. Although after a bit of a delay where the M4 narrows that was a doddle too.

I thought Granero did quite well with some neat link up play too.

Well im pleased you see Onuoha the same way as I do queens - i thought he was poor.

Hill had a tough day for sure, but you cant fault his attitude and application. Suarez was just too good for him - although for the second he lost a header to suarez that he shouldnt be losing.

    Well put mate.

I'm starting to think you might have a point about COL getting caught up in the emotion of it all because he seems to view Taarabt in a totally different light than the rest of the players. I do enjoy the rest of his reports though.

That's a fair post Queens. The majority of what you've written is how I saw it.
But the stark truth is none of our players can emerge from that game with any pride. They should give their wages to the QPR Cubs or a similar worthy cause. Every single one of them were ****. Some of them should never be allowed to wear the hoops ever again.
We should play the U21s for the rest of the season. At least we will go down with a fight and a bit of pride.

    Col,
with respect to the head for Gerrards goal (not) I've seen that 3 times but from only 1 angle. it actually appears to me that it comes off Gerrards head and onto Onuha's. Doesnt look like he actually know much about it. He "appears" to be behind Gerrard so not quite sure how he could have beaten SG to the ball. My view was directly in line with the ball from the cross.
Try watching again if you get the chance and tell me what you think.
As you say, there is absolutely no way you would be able to see ths if you were at the match. I only spotted it on the slow motion replay?
    have a look!
