It added to confirm âan increasing number of complaintsâ received, particularly from fans in the South Stand, and that 38 fans had been ejected to date, compared to 20 last season.
What gives them the right to stand and obscure another fellow fans view of the game? There should be a standing area allocated to allow people to stand if they wish.
They should not stand it gets on my wick when it does happen. I think that has happened at the Boro !.
I think the dozy bastards need to be reminded of the Hillsborough disaster, perhaps education should be the name of the game rather than bans. If some fans want to stand give them the option of sitting right at the back of the stands(no the irony is not lost on me) so they will not obstruct views and not cause any hindrance in the event of an emergency.
This all came about because people on another forum said the new singing section is actually a standing section and the stewards would turn a blind eye. Of course this was not true but enough people saying everyone starts believing it. I support the idea of "safe" standing sections. Standing done correctly is safe. I work on many large concerts where we have up to 80,000 people all standing, sometimes in mud and on uneven ground. If managed correctly it is just as safe as seating. For now though the law says you must sit, it is also not fair on people behind who cannot stand for a full 90 minutes. Its not the clubs fault, If these people want to protest they should protest to the FA. The club could lose its safety certificate and licence if they don't enforce the rules. For now if you want to stand at the SOL you will have to go to a concert.
I didn't see any walk out yesterday but then again I go to watch the game and support the club not become embroiled in any protest against them.
I'll be a very happy man if they bring in safe standing. Just how tough are they being on you? Like are you still allowed to jump up when your team scores, or stand up to call the ref a ****? I always try to get tickets for games in the area of WHL that you're able to stand in. Spurs still don't allow it but although the stewards do give it a good go trying to get everyone to sit there's too many standing for them to control us. I remember one ridiculous game where my mate couldn't get us all tickets together do he decided to get us seats at the back of the upper tier so we could still stand but it didn't take long for the jobsworths to walk up to us and threaten to chuck us out if we didn't sit.
I injured my back a few years ago and thought hard about renewing my season ticket as sitting for long periods had a detrimental effect but I spoke to the ticket office and they sold me a ticket at the back of the east stand so I could stand up for a minute or so every so often to assist with the problem without impacting on other supporters - these protesting people are being arseholes for the sake of being arseholes - they would probably argue that they should be allowed to drink and drive because it is their choice - total ****ers
