Oh look the doom mongers are back! We played exceptionally well a few days after playing a fantastic game against the leaders! Get over it! Our game plan was working! The big/little man will spend some cash and we will be fine - please do not compare this team to that of the one that went down!
There was a thread posted here recently by one of your mods and in general he got attacked for saying Pardew is clueless and should be sacked and I noticed a few posters were extremely rude and aggressive towards him. I wonder if they would like to post their current view on Pardew, great manager, isn't he
For all those people who say relegation won't happen I think you're living in cloud cuckoo land. We are now in the middle of a massive dogfight and we've less points now, for this time of year ,than we had when we last went down. 2 wins out of our last 11 games is woeful and if MA wants to safeguard his money he had better get some better players in next week or potentially lose a £60m payment next year.
We were good till we ran out steam. Arsenal benifited from their game less, suppose we shouldnt really be that surprised at the scoreline.
Most football fans, and I'm including Newcastle fans in this, heck I'm including human beings in general in this, are ****ing stupid and don't look at the bigger picture. Most human beings, probably around 75%, don't look at anything in a complex way, they just see what's right in front of them and make a stupid reaction without thinking. The OP is one of those people, and so is anyone who agrees with him. In these last two games we've been brave and attacked, and at the same time had to leave ourselves exposed at the back. There's no way we could have scored 6 goals in 2 games vs two of the PL's best teams if we hadn't have taken a very attacking approach, and we just couldn't quite make it work. At the end of the day this season is an experience, and it's a kick up the arse to the club. We needed to sign players, but we decided to try our luck again, and it has played a part in our downfall. However, regardless of us signing another player, nothing could have prepared us for the amount of injuries we've had so far, and it couldn't have happened at a more inconvenient time seeing as we've had Europe to deal with. There is still a long way to go. No, we're not going to finish in Europe again, and it's going to be difficult to finish in a nice position, but talking of relegation right now is ridiculous - 1. Because of the amount of games left and the amount of points between the sides. 2. Because all it will do is demoralise everyone and hammer the nail in our coffin. We need to remain positive.
I dont think we're going to get relegated but if the owner don't show any ambition in January,im afraid we are going to lose all our top players in the summer.
Defence was shocking, none of the defenders played well - but we just don't have the numbers to drop anyone. Some of the passing and movement going forward was excellent, the trouble is we lacked a leader to control on the tempo and direct the team. Colo isn't performing and hasn't done since his injury, Perch and Colo doesn't work as a central partnership add that to Simpson and Santon brainfarting when under pressure, the defence needs some confidence and that is not helped by the lack of quality options in the squad to cover the back 4.
You've played Man Utd and Arsenal away from home back to back with injuries. You were unlucky to lose to Man Utd... you've actually done pretty well considering.
Brave maybe more like bloody stupid you don't win points for bravery Bigger picture ??? Look At the last two months and points we should have picked up. And finally Ashley backing in jan oh just like he did in the summer and in the jan we went down
Our owner is p@ss poor tbh no ambition fails to understand what the extra rigours of playing in Europe can bring thinks his cheap as chips buying policy is the only way forward not 1 or 2 players we need at least 4 in January who are capable of going straight into the 1st squad Deflated isnt the word
9 defeats in 11, I wouldnt say it's a knee jerk! That being said we have had an awful injury crisis! I'd personally tell Pardew that he needs x amount of points in y amount of games or he is gone!
Talking of relegation now is rediculous? Think thats a bit of a hollow argument after the ninth defeat in eleven mate.
Nope just saying it how it is, 9 defeats in 11. We are playing pretty well but losing quite comfortably at the same time. Seem to remember Blackburn doing something similar last season, where did they end up again?
