Queens Park Rangers have been linked with a move for Portuguese international Ricardo Quaresma. QPR manager Harry Redknapp recently stated that the West London club will be active during the transfer window. Redknapp said, "I will be taking some chances now in the window, some will, hopefully they will come off but there is no guarantee because I'm not going to be able to go out and pay 30, 25 million pounds for a guaranteed Van Persie or some fantastic player with great character or whatever. "I've got to take some gambles." Quaresma would certainly be a gamble, heralded as a wonderkid during his time at Sporting Lisbon, the 29-year-old winger has played at the likes of Barcelona, Internazionale and Chelsea however, never managed to live up to expectations. The former Beşiktaş winger recently had his contract terminated with mutual consent and is now a free agent. Quaresma joined Beşiktaş from Inter Milan for â¬7.3 million in 2010. The Portuguese winger has 27 assists and 18 goals in 73 appearances for the Istanbul club. The 28-year-old winger scored 18 goals and made 27 assists in 73 games for the Black Eagles. http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=3961
Not a goal record to get the pulse going either but Harry can't afford Harrods. Morrison's at best. Maybe even only Lidl or Aldi
I would be very happy if he came. 5 star skill on fifa and one hell of a PING. I would take him, he's a direct player
Ralf Lidl only really plays charity matches and Aldi Haxhia was the youth goalkeeper at Chelsea. I can see Harry signing this pair up - coming soon though a car window near you!
The guy had potential. It's his willigness to work hard or the lack of it that stop him doing anything good. On the other hand Ronaldo is first to come to training and last to leave
Funny this one - I've always thought of Quaresma as a slightly older and "more advanced" version of Taarabt. If you YouTube him you'll find some outstanding skill that will almost certainly get your pulse racing. He's got as much ability as Taarabt and then some. The problem is, if you think Taarabt has a terrible attitude you've seen nothing yet...he's as bad as Bosingwa. If HR can get the best out of him (which I heavily doubt), he has the ability to keep us up. If both he and Taarabt are on-song and fit into the right formation, we could beat anyone. Sadly, I doubt either of those things can happen!
I wouldn't want him near QPR ever. If he was any good he would play for a big club. I didn't hear enything about him in the last 2-3 years. We don't need more wan.kers in our team.
Thirded. But for that reason, I bet we'll get him. Fits every box for one of our terrible signings. Bad attitude? Yes. Youthful and Hungry? No. Club wants to get rid off him? Yes. No good club interested? Of course. Welcome to QPR.
No they are both of similar age and in their late teens/early 20s, Quaresma was tipped to be the better player and showed more promise/maturity in his play. He was a regular starter for club and country.
Reality check, reality check.........the only players who will be interested in joining us are the aging/last contract/last pay day ilk, who aren't getting game time where they are. Unless Harold and Tony can do an outstanding sell job why would any younger player with interest from other top league clubs join us except for money? I would be happy for Harold to lock the current squad in the room and tell them in no uncertain terms that there is nowhere to hide and the responsibility lies with them, stand up and be counted. clint has already said it - see my signature. A CB and CF on loan at most.
Agreed. More changes in personnel fills me with dread. Having said that, a new CB and CF MAY save us. Bit of a gamble as Harry has said.
