I dont like to moan about any of our players and always try to see the good in them. But having seen him play on several occassions now. I can not for the life of me work out what ML sees in this guy. His first touch is poor, he has no pass and no eye for a goal. I know ML gets most things right but i just feel he has got this one wrong. He brought him on yesterday when we need a goal. Yet he has a man on the bench who has scored 12 or so PL goals. DG should have come on yesterday. So what do you guys think of him. For me the season long loan was to long and i just hope we dont sign hime at the end.
Agree, no point persevering with someone that we don't even own. Much better to try and get DG back in form, although DragonPhil seems to know something that is wrong there....? If there is some reason why he's being frozen out though, why not just leave him out entirely and start giving Donnelly or Proctor some mins off the bench...?
Pg it is just not the chances it is his alround play. his touch is poor as is his pass. he is far to light weight and gets pushed off the ball far to easy. You ask how many chances have been created for him quite rightly. But he also has to get into the positions to allow players to find him in the box to create these chances for him and his movement and awarenes of space in the box IMHO is poor at best.
Over the years we have had a number of forwards who have failed at the Club, not necessarily because they are bad players, but they just don't fit into our system. He may be one of those players. As it stands we are not in a position to give such a player an extended run in the team.
Signed by ml after a lot of scouting apparently. As was said by ML scout. Sorry cant remember his name. Signed by ML to play the system ML wanted to play. So we cant say he doesnt fit the system.
He made the goal for Pablo against Chelsea. I think he does a lot of interesting stuff quietly. He does have more to offer than DG.
All these players are good players and as said above its probably more to do with our system than anything else. I cant actually remember any chances he has had apart from one or two up at Newcastle, so its a bit harsh in one way, DG had plenty early doors but was missing,if Itay had those chances maybe he would have scored them? same with luke moore too. Moore geets stick for not doing enough but he has created two assists so far that i can think of and has done ok. Like when Gylfi started scoring dannys goals dried up, its the same with Michu, the team tends to channel more through one player than another and the reasons why Michu has scored has very often been down to the fact the strikers have moved defenders out of the way and created the space for him. I dont rate Itay but i have alot of faith in Laudrups signings, more than i have than any other manager who has been here. I guess we should all take stock of the fact we have scored far more goals this season and are higher placed in the prem league, whatever is going on seems to be working, but overall i dont see what else any other striker can do that will make a massive difference .
Well said Norway jack, I agree with all of that. Even though Itay hasn't scored I still think the balance is better with him than with Danny Graham.
He has not had that many chances yet to make a definite judgement, He has not been that bad anyway and probably needs a bit more time...If he is good enough for laudrup then he will come good....
ML has been spot on so far with most of his aquisitions even if some of them take a bit of time to get up to speed so ktf, but the only attacking sub out of dg,schckcter and moore ive felt creates more chance of scoring is moore. Roll on the January sales papa needs a new striker .
