1 - Jakupovic, made some good saves when he had to and not afraid to come flying out for the ball 2 - Simpson, had 90 minutes of long balls pumped up to him, made intelligent runs and held it up really well for someone his size, the one cleared off the line was a bit disapointing tho 3 - Chester, looked very assured at the back, the only one of the back 3 who looked comfortable on the ball Evans had a Weston super mare today, elmo looked knackered and Brice should've changed to 4-4-2 a lot earlier as Pearson got his tactics spot on, the 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 denied us space and forced us to go long every time. The ref was crap, how that bald headed prick Konchesky got away with hurling himself into elmo every time Jak went long to him was beyond me and he fell for Leicester's diving almost every time.
Jakupovic ( thats how you spell it ) Brady Chester Can't put Simpson in the top 3 as he's a striker and should have scored today with the chances he had although he does work hard
Aluko Chester Faye Aluko is in a class of his own at times, his touch is quality. Chester very similar just at the back, and Faye just looks so comfortable its unreal.
What saves did Jakupovic have to make? I can only remember one in the second half of any substance. The rest were just routine saves. I thought we were much the better side Simmo chances, Faye header, Aluko shot.
Jakupovic- easily the best player today. His kicking was good, a couple of dodgy moments in the 2nd half, but I think that may have been the angle I was seeing it from. The players seem to have a lot of confidence in him with the amount of back passes he had today, some under a lot of pressure. Simpson- worked hard up front today, holding the ball up well, made some good runs but either people didn't see him or they felt they had better options, which most of the time didn't work out. Unlucky not to score in the 1st half. Chester/ Koren.- can't separate them, Chester did everything simple & looked very classy. Koren worked hard in the middle, tried to tackle a lot, always was an outlet, played some good balls.
That's what I'm thinking. There was only one save today that he made that if it went in you wouldn't be fuming with the keeper, and some of those punches were so dodgy it was unreal. There was a save in the first half, where the shot from a mile away was straight at him, and he adjusted his body to make a Hollywood save and push it for a corner.
So what if C.Evans had a poor game today ? he has been great most of the season. Brother Johnny had a goal at each end for MU today. lol. 1) Chester 2) Jakupovic 3) Faye
1. Jakupovic 2. Aluko 3. Brady Another solid game from Jakupovic yesterday. Aluko had a great first half, Leicester couldn't handle him at times. He tired a bit in the 2nd half though he has just come back from injury. Brady looks a completely different player to the one we had last season, his game has matured so much.
1/Jacko Why's he not played all season ? 2/Simpson He should have scored yes,but he holds the ball up so well and is superb in tight areas. 3/Chester I don't need to tell you
Why did Jacko insist on hoofing the ball to Simmo all game only to see him out jumped by a defender two foot taller than him. Complete waste of time.
Maybe because the back 5 didn't show for it and cowering cory in the midfield hid away for the most of the game.
He pulled off an outstanding save to deny them in the first half, right in front of where we were sat. It was like instinct, his arm flashed up and denied Knockaert when one on one. He then kept out more in the second. He didn't really have a lot of options to go short, but that was more down to Leicester closing us down than our players not being arsed. Do wish Aluko would actually jump for challenges rather than just shrugging his shoulders.
Had to quote this post. He's very skillful but what does he actually do? For all his talent, yesterday he had one decent chance all game. He did really well with it and would have scored if Schmeichel wasn't a ****ing colossus every time he plays against us, but he needs to get involved more and actually impact games. So often he beats his man and then it comes to nothing. Simpson isn't as talented as him but he had 3 big chances and was just generally a lot more involved. Aluko frustrates the hell out of me. He should be ripping teams apart like Ince and Zaha do for their clubs. My top 3: Chester Simpson Quinn I didn't really think there were too many standout performers so I've just gone for 3 I thought did pretty well. Most of the team did fairly well. I know I'm not the first one to say it but ffs Corry Evans. He has a few good games and then goes back to just booting it randomly for 90-minutes. We can't play teams like Leicester without someone who can put a foot in and that man has to be Evans, but it'd be nice if he either sorts out his passing or stops thinking he's Beckham all the time and just play a simple pass that matches his ability.
