I would tend to agree with the OP with the majority of ratings, other than the fact I thought Yoshida was pretty solid so a 6 or 7. Not quite sure how you managed to slag off Guly in the thread as well? Davis - 6 Clyne - 6.5 Fonte - 8 Yoshida - 6.5 Shaw - 7 Cork - 8 Schneiderlin - 7 Davis - 6 Punch - 7 Ramirez - 6 Lambert - 4 To be honest, we may as well have had Tiss on the pitch as Rickie - he really only scored the pen, and that was it....
Not sure we need quite as many signings in January as OP has suggested, and I certainly don't agree with the slagging of Rodriguez and Guly. No ratings from me.
I think 4 is very harsh though. He won everything in the air and scored a good penalty. I'd say a 6 at least for him.
Walked past the couches walking towards hammersmith, did feel sorry for you lot, there was so much ****ing traffic!
Davis - 6 - Did nothing wrong except the goal Clyne - 5 - A bit of an off day, never got to the byline, partnership with Punch didn't flourish today Fonte - 7 - Did nothing wrong Yosh - 5 - Made some notable errors in possession Shaw - 7 - Non problems except never got to the byline Schneiderlin - 6 - 5 1st half, 7 2nd. Started to influence the game as he should 2nd half, made tackles, looked and passed forwards Cork - 7 - We lost control of the midfield at times 1st half, better later Davis - 6 - Combative, got involved, as someone said needs to raise his game for the prem Punch - 7 - Quiet 1st half, ran at them more 2nd and tried to create something Ramirez - 5 - Weak and lost the ball for the first goal, needs to man up, liability on left today, much better 2nd, unlucky with the late shot Lambert - 6 - Not getting enough service, f.backs not getting crosses in, no-one near him when he gets long balls, almost got a flick to J'Rod late in gane, pulled for dubious foul, great penalty as usual Subs; JRod needs more time, Guly needs less time NA - There's only one NA, No criticism of him from me
I sound good on the radio too! There are only two thingsI have to say about the game and that is: Why oh why does Nigel persist with playing Ramirez wide? It doesn't work. Why oh why does he leave it so late to change things in a match? We might have won yesterday if he had made the substitions fifteen minutes earlier.
Have to disagree with your assessment on Rickie, based only on watching Football First highlights and what I heard on the live Solent commentatory, he was given no service at all, but when he did have the ball on the ground his distribution was good, but wasted by others, with the conditions and a very tough centre back, there was very little opportunity to create anything in the air, 6 minimum, "he only scored the pen!", that's a bit cynical, he hasn't missed one for us yet, he is quite good at it even under real pressure, the GK guessed right but had no chance, had he made better contact he would have been in the net as well! | Luke Shaw made some uncharacteristic errors so only 6 from me.
