We deserved that win. We played well absorbed the City pressure and had chances to increase our lead. Every player deserves a pat on the back. But a special mention for Sess that was an immense performance of holding up the ball against some very good players. (Just a pity he didn't take one of his chances.) My son has just rung me nearly in tears he is so buzzing. He also told me not to expect him back any time soon as they are going straight from the SOL on the beer in the City centre. I have said this before about Man City they have some great players but don't have a great team, that is down to the manager. Lescott on FFS! City fans must be pulling their hair out!
What a way to spend Boxing Day hey footie, team beats the champs ,Newcastle lose ,we go above them, and then on the tear in the city . If I didn't have 4 poorly girls I would go out on the tear
Sat here in a winter wonderland and watched a wonder sunderland. Everyone a hero - I'm sooooooo buzzing !!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me seriously has Kilgallon EVER let us down ??? Seb as you said was magnifico - - - but Rose (with JM) was INCREDIBLE Danny Rose my man of the match, Howayawayaway the lads
sorry about the bairns mate hope it's not serious? Is it that stomach bug? I have-fresh supplies of very nice malt supplied my my lovely kids for Xmas and a couple of cases of beer in the fridge. Been on the beer for a couple of days straight and was going to take it easy today. NOt any more hahaa time to celebrate!
You know how it is mate cold weather one gets it then they all come down with it ,always at Xmas time
When Kevin Davies took Killa to school, yeah he let us down. But not today. Every single player deserves man of the match. Absolutely amazing.
Will you all stop talking about celebrating? i'm offshore and dry as a nuns ****, never saw the match but i take everyones word for the performance, ****ing brilliant lads, just ****ing brilliant. Santa was a day late but it was worth waiting for.
Bummer mate here's hoping they perk up soon Sorry MW, but look on the bright side, when you're back on shore you can make up for it.
Well at last Cottee has gave us some due on SSN. Way he was going on you would think it was all City!
We were outstanding, Rose seriously was beyond belief, the lad is just superb, if we paid £10million in January I'd be delighted. McLean was ridiculous, how he kept that up for 90 mins I'll never know, outstanding, wish he'd squared for Sess, but he can have that one. Kilgallon was absolutely flawless, as was the Mig (standard nowadays...). Gardner & Seb were terrific. Was just a superb performance, and credit MON, we were a wee bit more adventurous and this is how we caught them off guard, Kompany & Hart really performed or we could have had a few, we probably SHOULD have scored at least 3. Just been a great few days, and stroll on Saturday, and a very tough game that I really think we will win now. Where's that Southampton knobhead who said we'd be lucky to see 2 points from the next 5? 6 from 2 you ****er, haha.
Haha spot on mate. Rose a couple of misplaced passes early on, then gave himself a slap and was immense from then on. That dash from his side of the box to the other side as he saw a problem happening was beyond belief, what a block. That was the best TEAM performance I have seen from a SAFC side in many a year! Long may it continue. We will play that well again and get beat, lets hope we take the positives from a good performance.
Sitting drinking a Jack Daniels Silver Select smoking a nice cigar having beaten Citeh on top of the world. Ha'Way the Lads if Carlsberg did Christmas...
Just hope MON sticks with that higher intensity approach, there were spells when we pulled them to bits moving the ball quickly.
Aye you mentioned the McC shot that went wide, I too wish he had rolled in SEss. Should ave shot across Hart too maybe and a possibility of a Sess tap in. Not going to berate the lad, as I have said all along he is still learning. And if he does learn we have a hell of a winger in place. He was making some very good defenders look ordinary.
I hope all the MON critics will realise how wrong they were. He is the man and he will take this team to greater things
Even when he's not a threat he's a menace mate, that's a valuable asset. He'll get better, last few weeks he's been very, very good.
Think it will take a few more performances like that to sway them mate. A couple of them seem to still want MON to fail as they were staunchly behind Bruce.
