I think Cardiff will do it this season, unlike other years they now have the cash to spend In January because of the well off owners. now they will be able to strengthen the squad rather than just plod on withvwhat they have. also think the allams will be pleased with the way Bruce has worked with the city squad and hopefully they will give Steve a bit of cash to invest in January.

As far as I know, the national Fail owns our local Fail.

If so - no surprise. No surprise at all.

I can see no similarities at all editorial-wise.

    Editorial-wise or reporting-standards-wise?

You can't seriously compare the two, as they are two completely different types of newspaper.

The local paper is written badly for locals by non locals. It's out of touch with its readers and presents them with a dumbed-down version of local life, that is also often factually incorrect.

Its selective 'Dean Windass - local hero' and 'Dean Windass- pissed up wreck' dichotomy depending on their editorial and commercial needs on any given day, turns the stomach.

I think i just read the Daily Mail has the best online content......

Jesus even the Daily Mail admits there website is a load of rubbish and is built around how much something is clicked rather than quality. The best pieces get knocked down as there not easy to market, and won't get spread on social networks. Many of the american newspapers even wrote articles criticising it recently for how poor their online content is.

The papers write to sell papers.

I hope people keep on thinking we'll 'bottle' it. They'll keep playing us expecting us to lose and take their foot off the gas.

The mentality of our players is far different this season. Very similar to last season, though we now have more depth to the squad. We've had a lot of injuries in the last couple months and come through unscathed (relatively). To have Bellamy, Maynard, Tommy Smith, Mutch and a couple of squad players out at the same time and still win games and stay top suggests a depth we've not had before.

Who give a tinkers what a numpty from the Daily Mail thinks the championship table will look like. It is like Eric Pickles writing a piece about the joys of hang-gliding.

    Correct.

Nor i the Daily Mirror Labour paper. The Yorkshire Post and the Suns GOAL supplement are the best reads.

    Indeed.

On a lighter side with local media. This morning on the 6.25am sports desk the legend that is G Lloyd said that Hull City had a seasons best gate on boxing day. 2,300 ?? now that made me chuckle.

    That's right! <doh>

It was a recent sell-off of regional titles, wasn't it?

To be honest, Asbo - I only buy the Grauniad once a week (for guide and reviews) and it's losing me. :emoticon-0112-wonde

I do read the Eastern Daily Press and the Lynn News in my local pub, but they're fullacrap too! <laugh>

Can't see Cardiff bottling it now, I think there is one automatic place to go for now between us, Leicester, Boro and Palace. As for the article, why are we considered dark horses for automatic yet not considered as play off contenders? <doh>

No, it really isn't for people with any formal education whatsoever. If I want well-argued and structured right wing vitriol, I read the Telegraph or the Times. Interesting username btw, at least you don't leave room for ambiguity regarding your politics, lol

On the content of the article, its clearly dogshite, but its pretty rare that someone making predictions with 22 matches to go would be anything other than dogshite.

I thi nk anyone who doesn't use the Internet to try and get a balanced view is missing out. Surely by saying one or the other is **** is just your own political views coming out. You can read both online, jobs a good un.

Some great articles and columnists in both the guardian and the Mail, some shocking ones too!!
