Good point. Very good point. Four points from these first three Xmas games was my target. I'd have happily taken that if offered it in previous weeks. So we're just, just still in with a chance of that. Badly need to improve the recent performances though. I didn't even really rate the Reading performance, even though we won, so that's four or five games on the bounce that we've played poorly in (at least in an attacking sense). I'm undecided if the home game vs Norwich should be attached to this run of poor performances or not. Arsenal at home and Villa away are both winnable if we can play like we did against, for example, Newcastle. PS. Sorry for doubting you Rickie, when we won that penalty.
Still so many questions: why do we start so poorly; why is Ramirez playing wide; why are our substitutions made so late? Does Adkins know our best side, I am not sure :s.
Decent point, good to see them pressing for an equaliser and have to give credit to Dowd for spotting the handball by Baird. Lovely shot by Ramirez at 1-1 which could have won the game, but I'll take the point.
It is interesting to see how neutrals have a different perspective: 'Rickie Lambert's late spot-kick secured a deserved point for Southampton against Fulham in the Premier League' -BBC.
Only saw the second half, but what I saw Schneiderlin was absolutely superb, a few times he got into that 'Pirlo' position where he'd sit behind the other two CMs and just spray passes, thoroughly top class. It's a shame our play in the final third wasn't that great, it just seemed like at Sunderland where that final ball always seemed to be a little bit off, hopefully next game we'll work out our rhythm without Lallana.
Yoshida has been doing a lot better recently. If we can sort our link up play with our striker then we could do ok.
Missing Adam badly still a VERY good away point, CC is a hard place to go to and take the ****e weather into account and the fact that we came from behind, I think all in all I will take that result - straight to the pub with me COYR!!
Not good first half, but played much better 2nd half. On my way back now going to be ****ing ages, the traffic is crazy.
From listening to the game, I think we did deserve a point. And I heard Dowie say on Sky that we were dominating, just without the final ball. But just because we deserved the point, doesn't neccessarily mean that we played well. We were just, at least, Fulham's equals.
This is true, I think our problem is that when we play well we don't always capitalise. I worry about our substitutions; I felt sure that Guly or Rodriguez would be useful today.
