http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-paul-1504342 Hmm bit surprised about that if it is true, not surprised about the line about hughton looking for money to raid european market at all though. Maybe lambert can bring the best out of him like he did last season?
If that's the only player Lambert steals of us, I'll be happy. Sometimes Morison is decent, but he doesn't half frustrate me the rest of the time.
we'd want some back up in mind if the story is right. I do rate Jackson and suppose Kane is still a bit unknown really. One thing playing Holt on his own upfront but without him good chance we'll be playing 2 so i'd like another pls.
i've been an ardent defender of steve morison, especially during the 2nd half of last season where some of the crap he was thrown was a disgrace, but this season, despite (as far as we know) being injury free, he has never grabbed any of the chances he's been given to impress. now there hasn't been that many chances to be fair, but he doesn't strike me as a player who wants to be here anymore. whether that is down to fans abuse last season, i really wouldn't be surprised. i'm not sure i'd want to give my all for a club whose fans boo me. i think its now got to the stage where we have to sell him for both our own good and his. i'm disappointed because he's a good player when on his game but he hasn't been on his game once this season.
so long as we recoup the £2.8M we paid for him so we can get a replacement, then thankyou and goodbye Steve.
Replacement... Jacob Mulenga of Utrecht I hope! says he's close to joining an unnamed premier league club and he looks and sounds exactly the type of striker CH would go for especially after the signing of tettey. I'm sorry, ive tried to stick up for moro but Saturday he was just hopeless, showed no enthusiasm what so ever and just the way he played had a serious impact on our attacking play and especially Wes! Cash in on him while he still has a reasonable price!
Yeah that's the only club I've seen him rumored to be joining but nothing concrete has been said on it. The only thing I will say is that he will be off for ACON next year! Probably won't happen, just seems a little interesting and maybe bowkett got belgium and holland mixed up
is there any chance leicester might be interested? They seem to be desperate for a striker and Moro would do well in Championship, I am sure. They would be able to at least equal his wages here and could also afford 3 million.
there's no question clubs will be interested in morison. there will be takers, probably around the £2m mark. people may suggest 'we've made a loss on him' but his ten goals last term were very significant in keeping us up so he's been a good signing. its just whether the manager feels its best for both parties if he moves on. i'm beginning to think it probably isn't going to happen for him here anymore.
This begs the question, could we cash in on moro and Vaughan in Jan and put the money with what we have then we could have a reasonable amount for a striker and maybe a very decent one from abroad!?
According to reports, Utrecht are setting a cap of €250,000 on player wages in an attempt to eliminate their operating losses. Their currently highest paid players are said to be on €500,000, i.e. a little under €10,000 per week, equating to roughly £8000 per week. Transfermarkt put a figure of £1.5M on Mulenga. Why would anyone NOT be looking to recruit from the European leagues when they represent such good value compared to home-grown players?
Was never a fan but I do agree he was given some severe disrespect from certain sections of our support. The guy who had a go at him in the Top of the Terrace being a prime example, thats going to get us absolutely nowhere. I've never rated certain areas of his skill set but his scored some important goals, the one against Arsenal at the Emirates being my favourite as it took some technique to do that. Striker wise I hope to see us scouting the continent for Holts rightful successor and team rival. I want to see a serious investment made for our future.
Would there be an point in trying to get Wood from Millwall in a straight swop? From what I've seen on highlights, Wood looks quite handy.
I get the feeling Simeon Jackson will go in January as well. If Morison has not been given many chances, then Jackson has had none! Wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of strikers arrive in January.
I agree with everything you've said Northampton. Booing him at the ground is wrong, whether you like him or not. I don't particularly rate him at all but the Tierney rumours and the grief he gets at the matches sometimes is way out of line. I think Jackson will stay, just because he offers something different to Holt, and I think Hughton was looking to get rid of Vaughan or Jackson in the summer and he chose Vaughan to go.
Well Chris has had time to look at Morrison. Let's sell him to the highest bidder then I like Jackson as he has pace but hasn't really had the chance this season so not sure what the gaffer thinks Compared to our midfield, our front line is lacking in quality apart from holt and we don't know about Kane plus he isn't ours Expect one striker incoming
Exacty the point I made to another fan earlier. He scored the winner at WBA, QPR abd the equakiser at Arsenal!!!!
