Well its fair to say that Laudrup beleives in playing the best players! much has been made of the possible recall of Vorm and when it would happen, it wasnt a hard one for Laudrup! basically as soon as he felt Vorm was ready he was put between the sticks. That decision saved us a point today, its very hard to tell a player who has done well that they are dropping down to the bench but in fairness that was probably the right thing to do, nothing against Tremmel,he has won me over and done a teriffic job for us but Vorm is actually a world class shot stopper and Tremmel isnt.

This meant that a world class save to deny Rooney in the first half(down to his bottom left, tremmels weak point) and a world class save to tip a header over the bar in the second half earnt us a result.

If Vorm had played against Norwich he would have saved 2 of those goals IMO. Vorm proved today that that extra little bit of speed and agility makes a massive difference at this level. Vorm is a keeper that wins us points it really is that simple.

Laudrup deserves massive credit for making a big call today, he understands that for us to do well we need to play our best players, thats why Chico came straight back in and thats why Vorm came straight back in ! no slight is meant to tremmel who i hope will remain at the club,he has gained alot of confidence from his time between the sticks and can hold his head up high, he can now feel a part of tthe team and club 100% as his contribution has been fantastic.

If there was any doubt about who is the main man at goalkeeper it was put to bed today, the player that wins you points is Vorm, plain and simple :)

Thoughts on Laudrups ballsy selection today ?

Was Tremmel hard done by or did the right player play ?

He made a very a difficult but correct decision.

Before Vorm got injured, he wasn't at his best. Today, we saw his best again and he got us that point.

    World class!

I agree Chico, there were 2 saves that were top draw one was a worldy from where i was sitting ! touched onto the bar with the finger tips . Its good to know that we have some competitition and Vorm now kniows he needs to maintain his performance levels, i felt he was a bit slack at the start of the season and there was no real pressure on him from tremmel, what tremmel has done now is raise the bar higher and that will focus minds on the job ahead !

We have done well with tremmel in the team but when he has been called upon to earn us points he hasnt done so well, there always needs to be a time in the game where your goal keeper will inspire the others, Vorm did that today with some of his saves, it gets the home crowd going as well which helps to lift the team in general.

It was a hard choice but like with Chico bringing back Vorm was to me the correct choice :)

I agree Dai, the good thing for me is that we have good competition there now and that has been missing for me. i think Vorm was a bit lazy at the start of this season, i felt he had lost a bit of self motivation, he had just signed a new 4 year contract and was as comfortable as anybody could be in top level sport.

What Tremmel has done is up the anty and make sure Vorm is now 100% switched on!! he now knows he needs to bring his A game every week something that i felt wasnt quite there at the start of the season, for that we have Tremmel to thank for and i now wish he gets a new contract with us, he has proved himself as a worthy member of the squad fair play to him <ok>

A manager has to stand or fall by his decisions and considering his (Mr Laudrup's) lack of experience of managing in he PL he's not to date made many decisions which myself as a supporter would question, not only playing Vorm but to start with Kemy made the difference between a point gained or three lost.
Tremmel will be disappointed I'm sure but the team ethic looks a strong now as it ever did last season and he must know that if Vorm doesn't perform then Mr Laudrup is not afraid to change things around.

I voted to keep Tremmel until he made a bad blooper. Imo, he did that at least twice against Norwich and consequently I was happy for Vorm to return. Vorm showed his class today to justify his recall but I echo the comments of others in that Tremmel, for the most part, stepped up and did a great job. I hope he stays with us.

good comment Ivor, i also voted for Tremmel as i thought Vorm had become complacent, now i believe he knows he has to be at his best to keep his spot

I voted Vorm because I think Kidder summed it up best: He wears number 1 for a reason.
Also I think we should consider using Teindalli as a winger, he's great going forwards!
