Has to be Arsenal 2-1. I was on away direct for that 1st premier league season and saw every game and I don't think the feeling at full time will ever be beaten. It made all the ****ty away games like Darlo, Carlilse, Hartlepool etc I've done over the years all worth while. I feel sorry for glory seekers and bandwagon jumpers, because only when you've suffered the lows can you truly appreciate the highs! I'm filling up here thinking about it all over again Hullsborough 2004 was special too, as was West Brom away in the 1st prem season as we truly smashed them, if we're honest it was one of the few truly dominant away performances that year rather than the park the bus/smash & grab approach.
Got to be the yeovil match epic weekend we got promoted and stayed in torquay got wasted threw peanuts at a copper in my drunken state while walking to the clubs and or some reason ended up dancing topless in a club and causing the people i was with to also join in before the rest of the club joined in oh and also gave abuse to the lincoln city rugby team thinking they were just football fans haha
Chelsea at Stamford bridge in 1966 2-2 draw Brilliant from getting on the train in the morning to getting off on the night
almost went for sheff weds, but still a bit pissed off i missed 25 minutes ,,so went for Arsenal but could have been any in that first 5 months in the premier league, never forget it or the messiah who led it.
Surprised no one's mentioned Spurs away 1-0, the week after Arsenal. Magnificent international class free kick from Geo. Modric, Bale etc failed to break us down. Their numpty fans almost as downcast as Arsenal's the week before at losing at home to Hal or How as they call it London.
Are you Arsenal in disguise was the chant, if I remember right. I remember the trip down to the emirates was like going to a funeral, very dour. But it was a party bus on the way back!! Was going to go for the 8 - 4 win over Whitby Town (after extra time) in the FA cup, but voted for the Sheff. Wed game. what an atmosphere.
Post #11 Great day out That Whitby game was at home in the replay, we drew 0-0 away in the first match
As important as the result at Hullsborough was the number of fans we took that night 7,500 for a midweek away game in December in the third tier? Unprecedented.
That Whitby game was at home in the replay, we drew 0-0 away in the first match. Another great day, 2,000 plus tigers fan soaked to the skin in the rain at Scarbourough letting Terry Dolan know exactly what they wanted him and his assistant to do. It's a pity he didn't Fxxk off, he was a ****e manager, imo.
