Can you remember which teams were relegated from the Premier League with us, actually finishing above us in the process? That was my point - we DID have to play them in the PL.....
Portsmouth finished bottom and Burnley above us. ++++++++++++++++++ Leeds look slow at the back and up front actually,
Yeah, but they were a different team then. Still beat us every ****ing time mind. What I mean is teams like the current Burnley, last year's Watford (both under Sean Dyche btw) As for Leeds, I hate to say it because he's a twat but I think Becchio might be the best striker for us to go for. He gets on the end of crosses and importantly, he might be available to sign while other good strikers like Wood, Austin, etc. are out of our reach.
I did. Up to "Considering..." was the basic part. The other bit was the expansion to show it being applied. Can't you tell my head is in exam mode through answering all the "explain and demonstrate" questions.
We did play a team like Burnley in the Premier League... Burnley... I'd rather see us winning games in this league than fighting relegation every year and getting raped by teams like Stoke, Wigan and Fulham. Looking at our team now, and considering so many of you think we could/should go up this season, I feel I should say this: the thing with us is that our formation and our players aren't exactly perfect for the league we're in. When you go into every game thinking you could either win 3-0 or lose 3-0 (as is often the case with us), as opposed to expecting a comfortable 1-0 or 2-0 victory, it should tell you that you don't have a top quality squad. If we played like we did in the Blackpool and Peterborough games against Manchester City or Chelsea, we'd be on the end of a six or seven-nil loss. They were matches in which we had plenty of the ball and plenty of chances, but the fact we only had 3 defenders and we pressed forward so much left us open to very simple and very avoidable counter-attacks. You could obviously alter the formation so that we play with more men at the back, but at what cost? Do we give up what little attacking threat we have?
Talking of Leeds, maybe we ought to extend the hand of friendship to this unfortunate fellow who has fallen foul of Ken Bates http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-investment-seeker-business-failures-him.html Seems the bloke lives in the Hull area but support Leeds. Maybe he can be offered an amnesty and rehab, and resume a useful role in society.
Torres was awfull, the Leeds defenders coped with him easily. I reckon Simpson will cause them more problems !
Derby Lesster Vermin Donkey Lashers I'll take 8 points out of 12 right here right now Most important is to beat Lesster- it's a Star of David 6-pointer. Leeds is business as usual
I'll say this: Leeds would almost certainly let Becchio go for anything in the region of £1m to £1.5m, but there's not a ****ing chance he personally would want to join us
Agree with you, apart from his tap in Torres might as well have not been on the pitch. And, for whatever it's worth, it's widely accepted in Leeds fan circles that Bates/Lorimer etc. forced Grayson to accept an offer from you for Becchio but he turned you down. I honestly think he'll spend the rest of his career (or at least prime years) playing for us. I'm not sure Erik's right about what anyone would get him for though; maybe under Bates, but as of tomorrow he'll have exactly 0 shares in Leeds United.
I feel sorry for Becchio haters, it must be truly awful for you watching him bang them in each week and adore every second playing for the Leeds fans. ISTPLT, Simon Grayson revealed he was told to sell Becchio, and the man City Agro insults above added detail and said he rejected Hull. He's also had options from Swansea and Boro which he's not pursued, because he ****ing loves Leeds.
