I see no reason why we won't be battling for the automatics. We're winning games without a proven striker and with our only prolific player this season out. With Aluko back and a new striker in, I'd say we're better than Boro and Palace, and on par with Cardiff.
We desperately need a forward or two, a centre-half and a goalkeeper, but who is there? If we can get them, we could well be in with a chance of the automatics
I don't think we desperately need a centre-half. We've got Chester, Hobbs, Faye and Bruce who've all looked very good this season. If 2 of them happen to be out, we have Macca and if 3 are out (extremely unlikely) we can get Coops back. Everyone knows we need a striker, and I think Bruce will bring in a top class forward. Given Jakupovic's performance, perhaps the 'keeper situation isn't as bad as first feared but if Brucey still feels we need one, I think we'll get one. Wouldn't be surprised if Stockie came back.
Zaha is as good as gone come Jan = adios Palarse Boro are average = play offs Cardiff are going to win the league IMO if they don't choke. If the Allams are serious about promotion we need to properly strengthen in Jan and cement second place. 4 points from the next 2 home games and we still on course for it.
I'm not so sure Erik, you might be right about Cardiff but I think Palace will fall off the pace a bit and Boro aint all that in my opinion and they still have to play at the KC. We are playing with a lot of confidence these days and I can't see any games in the second half of the season that we couldn't expect to get one if not three points. Now injuries could be a factor of course but with a little luck that second place could be ours, don't under estimate the strength and quality we have in the squad now and who knows what might happen in the jan transfers, pappa Allam might just push the boat out and spend some cash. Adding to that the obvious quality of Steve Bruce as a manager we could well be playing in the prem next year
Cardiff seem to be getting very lucky in games, sounds like Leicester deserved more out the game today, out of us Cardiff, Leicester, Boro, Palace and dare i say Leeds its gonna be tight at the end of the season.
Well we can put Leicester and Leeds in their place next week, if we win both of them games then like The Monkees sang "I'm a believer"
That does look uncannily like me I've just noticed that Leicester have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 5 of their last 11 games. That just makes me think we're in for a thumping even more
We are where we are for a reason. We're every bit as good as those sides. Palace we've already seen aren't even that good.
