Both teams were defending as if Mark Hughes was in charge :emoticon-0184-tmi:

How much would it cost to sack Pardew if the worst came to the worst, stupid to give any manager such a long contract.
Some of these owners really are stupid when it comes to common sense <doh>

8 x ex amount will be a pretty penny. Unless of course MA being the business man he is made some kind of stipulation regarding the terms of the contract, ie the success of the Club and progress made.

I'm sure he did. MA, the business man mindset he has, had Pardew as the incoming manager agree upon his system(Llamearse + Carr + Charnley) in the hierarchy, and let's not forget how during the troubled times like SportsDirectArena, Mandy for 35, Pardew had to face the media alone. Let's face it, this MA dude is a smart bastard. He is not going to tie up an 8-year contract on Pardew without having any plan B. He would have learnt his lesson from the Keegan incident.

Everyone calling to drop Willo. Have you seen any of our games recently? He's been the better of our 2 centre backs. He's been playing ok. Give the guy a break.

I don't think Willo is as bad as people are making him out to be. He can't be faulted for trying.

Getting on his back wont male him play any better.

Well said AB. Interesting fact: Collo and Willo partnership average more clean sheets than Collo Saylor.

Another interesting fact: we've conceded only 4 more goals than we had at this stage last season.

Fact that matters = We are in a relegation fight and Willo has been our main centre back this season and has had 1 maybe 2 good games. Should have been replaced 3-4 transfer windows ago. He's a Championship player and was bought for the Championship.

So has Collo. In fact he has been awful, slow, sloppy and at fault for quite a few of our recent goals. Oh well lets just get on Willos back again.

Willo has and does make mistakes every game, Colo has been **** lately but has still been better than Willo this season.

How many more bad games does Willo have to have until peoples criticism's of him stop being called "scapegoating" or "just getting on Willo's back". He needs replaced because he isn't good and never has been.

Got a good feeling for today, I say 3-1, with goals from Ba, Cisse and Colo. Assuming the game doesn't get postponed.

It's not his fault we have a tiny squad though is it? He's come in and over achieved if anything. Why single him out? Our entire team has been poor this season. I'm more upset with people like Collo and Tiote who just have been average at best.

Also, Defensive mistakes get highlighted more than say, a striker not converting a chance, or a midfielder getting dispossessed in the build up to a goal.

Didn't at one moment say it was, Pardew/ Ashley & co should have replaced him a long time again, our defence has been weak for years. I don't just single him out, I have criticised most players this season, but Willo gets it most from me because he makes errors every game(Still made some at City, that City didn't capitalize on), the constant kicking the ball straight back to the opposition, he's tall but cannot head the ball, Willo free kick routine(not his fault, but being **** in the air is), I've seen his defensive headers go to opposition more than team mates.

I don't criticise him for the sake of it.

Tiote has been poor, he's trying to do too much I think, needs to go back to basics where he excelled in his first season.

Not surprising though really, defensive mistakes often cause us to concede, a hell of a lot of goals this season are because of them I think.

I've mentioned HBA losing the ball about 20 times in 3/4 games(6 against Liverpool alone, that resulted in good counter attacks) which annoys the hell out of me, yet some people give him the benefit of the doubt. HBA cannot pass, yet when he chooses not to attempt some people just say "no point, at least he is trying something". Keeping possession is more important that HBA running the ball out of play/ getting tackled resulting in a counter attack.

This season is just a bastard other words :headbang: <grr>

Off to the game today, it's my first one in ages since being at Uni down south. Slightly worried that it's gonna get called off, anyone heard anything about pitch inspections?

Oh yeah btw we have to win this game otherwise we're so screwed.

Realistically there is still more than half the season left and I don't think we'll be within a few points of relegation come May but a loss today would almost certainly have us in the relegation zone in the new year (we're getting nothing at OT or the Emirates) which will have an effect on anyone we want to sign (and possibly retention of players).

Also, I need to be cheered up as England are getting tonked in the cricket. Even though its a sideshow form of the game it still hurts.
